How To Use Copilot In Edge To Track Prices And Find Better Deals
Holiday shopping has a funny habit of turning into browser chaos. One minute you’re checking a price, the next you’re juggling ten tabs and wondering where the best deal actually is. Microsoft is trying to simplify that with new shopping features baked directly into Copilot inside Edge, turning the browser into more of a shopping helper than just a place to scroll.

If you’re in the US and use Microsoft Edge, here’s how you can make the most of these new tools.
Start With Copilot Inside Edge
Copilot now lives right inside the Edge browser window, tucked in the top-right corner. When you’re browsing a supported online store, clicking the Copilot icon opens a side panel that pulls up shopping-focused information for the product you’re viewing.
You don’t need to jump between sites or search manually for price comparisons. Copilot shows details like current pricing across different retailers, previous price trends, and basic product insights in one place.
It’s designed to work while you keep browsing, so you’re not pulled away from the product page.
Use Price History To Time Your Purchase
One of the more practical features is price history. Instead of guessing whether a deal is actually good, Copilot shows how the price has moved over time. This helps you decide whether to buy immediately or wait for a potential drop.
If patience is your strategy, you can set up price alerts. Once enabled, you’ll be notified when the product hits the range you’re comfortable with.
Turn On Copilot Mode For Proactive Deals
Copilot Mode goes a step further. When this setting is toggled on in Edge, the browser actively looks for better deals or cashback opportunities while you shop. If a lower price appears elsewhere, it surfaces that information without you needing to search for it.
This is especially helpful when comparing similar products across multiple stores, which is often where deal fatigue sets in.
You stay in control, though. Copilot Mode can be switched on or off from Edge settings anytime, and if you choose not to use it, your browsing experience stays unchanged.
Ask Questions Like You Would To A Real Assistant
Because Copilot works conversationally, you can interact with it naturally. If a product insight isn’t clear, you can ask follow-up questions, request comparisons, or dig deeper into specific features, all within the same panel.
