How to Use Google AI as Your Personal Travel Assistant: Track Flights, Check Points and Book Hotels

Google is turning Search into a digital travel assistant with new AI-powered features that can track flight prices, check loyalty reward rates and even help users book hotel rooms. The tools are designed to simplify trip planning by keeping much of the process within a conversational search experience.

Google AI Travel Tools: How to Track Flights and Book Hotels

Here's how to use Google's new AI travel features.

How to Track Flight Prices with Google AI

Google has added flight-price tracking to its conversational AI search tools, bringing some of the functionality of Google Flights into the chat experience.

Step 1: Search for your flight

Open Google's AI search experience and enter your departure city, destination and travel dates.

For example:

"Find flights from Mumbai to London from October 10 to October 20."

Step 2: Ask Google to track prices

Once the flight options appear, ask Google to monitor fares for your chosen dates.

You can say:

"Track these flight prices and notify me when they drop."

Google will monitor the relevant fares and send an email notification when prices fall.

The feature works across more than 180 countries and uses pricing information from over 300 airlines and booking partners. When you are ready to purchase, Google provides links to the relevant airline or booking website.

How to Check Flight and Hotel Loyalty Points

Google's AI tools can also help travellers determine how many loyalty points or airline miles they need for a trip.

Step 1: Enter your travel details

Search for your desired flight or hotel, including the destination and dates.

Step 2: Ask about reward points

You can then ask a question such as:

"How many American Airlines miles do I need for this flight?"

Google retrieves current redemption information from supported airline and hotel loyalty programmes.

Step 3: Compare redemption options

You can use the information to compare the cash price with the points or miles required before deciding how to pay.

The feature is available globally, with support for programmes including Choice Hotels, Hilton and American Airlines. Hyatt and Lufthansa are among the partners expected to be added.

How to Book Hotels Through Google AI

Google is also introducing hotel bookings directly within its conversational search experience.

The feature is currently rolling out to English-language users in the US.

Step 1: Search for hotels

Enter your destination and dates, along with preferences such as price, ratings or cancellation policies.

For example:

"Find hotels in New York from November 5 to November 8 with good ratings and free cancellation."

Step 2: Compare hotels

Google can show hotel options with information such as user ratings, cancellation policies and other booking conditions.

Step 3: Select a room and pay

After choosing a hotel and room, eligible bookings can be completed within the Google experience using Google Pay.

The actual reservation is handled by the relevant travel or hotel partner, which also provides customer support after booking.

Why These Tools Matter

Google's new AI travel features bring flight tracking, loyalty-point searches and hotel bookings closer together in one conversational interface. Instead of switching between multiple travel websites, users can increasingly search, compare and act through a single AI-powered experience.

The move reflects Google's broader effort to turn Search from a tool for finding information into an assistant capable of helping users complete everyday tasks and transactions.
