India AI Impact Summit 2026: Adobe Makes Firefly, Photoshop And Acrobat Free For Students
At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Adobe announced a new plan aimed directly at students. Those enrolled at accredited higher education institutions across India will now get free access to key Adobe apps, including Adobe Firefly, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat.

The move shifts access from a paid student subscription model to institution-based availability, meaning students won’t have to individually subscribe to use these tools if their college is part of the program.
What Exactly Is Being Offered
Adobe says this is more than just free software. The plan includes:
- Free access to Firefly, Photoshop, and Acrobat for students through accredited colleges
- Structured curriculum designed around AI-first creative workflows
- Training modules to help students use these tools in practical scenarios
- Certification pathways aimed at improving employability
The idea is to embed AI-powered creativity directly into classroom learning instead of leaving it as an optional add-on.
Rollout Through Schools And Colleges
Adobe confirmed that its AI-focused offering, along with the curriculum, will be made available to students across 15,000 schools and 500 colleges that will host Content Creator Labs. These labs were announced as part of the Union Budget 2026 and are tied to the broader goal of creating 20 lakh jobs in animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics by 2030.
By integrating tools and training into these labs, Adobe is aligning its program with the government’s Create in India vision.
Partnership With NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime
Alongside campus access, Adobe is partnering with NASSCOM’s FutureSkills Prime platform. Through this collaboration, students will be able to access AI learning courses and certifications focused on employability in AI-driven roles.
Adobe says this initiative extends its global Adobe Digital Academy program into India, connecting training with clearer career pathways.
How This Changes The Current Model
Right now, Adobe offers a Creative Cloud Pro student subscription in India that starts at ₹400 for the first month and then ₹2,714 per month. That plan includes a broad suite of apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Express, Firefly, After Effects, InDesign, Lightroom, XD, Audition, Animate, Dreamweaver, and more.
With the new announcement, core AI-powered tools like Firefly, Photoshop, and Acrobat become available free through institutions, reducing the financial barrier for many students.
Why It Matters
Adobe’s tools are already widely used across creative industries. By combining free access, structured learning, and certifications, the company is trying to make AI-powered creativity part of everyday education.
Whether this translates into better job outcomes will depend on how institutions adopt and integrate the program. But the direction is clear: Adobe wants students in India to graduate already comfortable with AI-driven creative tools.
