Reliance AGM 2025: Google Partnership Brings Jamnagar Cloud Region for AI Growth
At its 48th annual general meeting (AGM), Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced a new partnership with Google to establish the Jamnagar Cloud region, an AI-focused facility designed exclusively for Reliance.
The initiative will combine Reliance’s energy and infrastructure with Google Cloud’s AI stack, aiming to speed up AI adoption across Reliance’s businesses in energy, telecom, retail, and finance.

A Cloud Region Powered by Clean Energy
The Jamnagar Cloud region will be built and powered by Reliance at its facilities in Gujarat. The company said the site will run on renewable energy supplied by Reliance’s green energy projects and will use Jio’s fibre network to connect with metro hubs like Delhi and Mumbai.
By ensuring compliance with Google Cloud’s service-level standards, the facility is positioned to support demanding AI workloads at scale. According to RIL, the cloud region will serve enterprises, startups, public sector organisations, and small businesses looking to adopt AI-first solutions.
Google Cloud’s Role in the Facility
At Jamnagar, Google Cloud will deploy its AI hypercomputer infrastructure and provide a fully integrated stack that includes generative AI models, developer platforms, and AI-powered applications. This will allow companies to build, train, and run advanced AI systems locally, reducing reliance on overseas cloud regions.
RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said, “By bringing Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to Jamnagar, supported by Reliance’s infrastructure, renewable energy, and nationwide network, we are laying the foundation for India to become a global leader in AI.”
Expanding AI Ambitions Beyond Google
The AGM also included news of a joint venture with Meta, valued at ₹855 crore, focused on AI-based enterprise solutions. While details remain limited, Reliance said the collaboration will use Meta’s Llama models to build industry-specific tools for sectors like energy, telecom, media, and manufacturing.
