Samsung Expands Galaxy AI Platform, Adds Perplexity AI to Upcoming Flagships
Samsung has announced a major expansion of Galaxy AI, doubling down on its vision of a rich, open, and deeply integrated multi-agent ecosystem. The move reflects the company's broader goal of delivering AI that reduces effort across everyday tasks - helping users get more done with greater choice, flexibility, and control.
AI That Works the Way You Do
According to recent insights shared by Samsung, nearly 8 in 10 users now rely on more than two types of AI agents depending on the task at hand. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in daily routines, users are seeking smarter, more adaptable systems rather than single-purpose tools.

Responding to this shift, Samsung is evolving Galaxy AI to support multiple integrated AI agents. This approach allows users to choose the experiences that best fit their preferences and routines - without being locked into a single assistant.
Unlike traditional AI features that operate within standalone apps, Galaxy AI is embedded at the operating system level. Through deep, framework-level integration, the system understands user context across the device to enable more natural interactions.
This system-wide intelligence reduces the need to constantly switch between apps or repeat commands. Galaxy AI can work quietly in the background, connecting different services and creating smoother workflows. Samsung says this also allows it to curate experiences from partner services while ensuring everything feels seamlessly integrated within the Galaxy ecosystem.
Perplexity Joins the Galaxy AI
As part of this expansion, Samsung will introduce Perplexity as an additional AI agent on upcoming flagship Galaxy devices. Users will be able to activate Perplexity using a dedicated voice wake phrase - "Hey Plex" - or through quick-access controls such as pressing and holding the side button. The goal is to make contextual assistance instantly accessible when needed.
Perplexity will be deeply embedded across select Samsung apps, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, and Calendar, as well as select third-party applications. With this integration, users can perform multi-step workflows more smoothly - moving between tasks without manually managing separate apps.
Samsung states that the wider Galaxy AI roll-out will continue through work with trusted partners, aiming for AI features that remain simple to access and usable by many people. The company says more information on compatible devices and upcoming Galaxy AI experiences will be shared in future announcements.
