Siri AI Debuts at WWDC 2026 With Cross-App Intelligence and Context Awareness
Apple used its WWDC 2026 keynote to unveil a major expansion of Apple Intelligence alongside iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27.
The company introduced Siri AI, a redesigned version of its digital assistant, while also announcing new AI-powered features across its ecosystem. Apple says the next generation of Apple Intelligence is built on an upgraded architecture that delivers more capable AI experiences while maintaining user privacy.

Siri AI Compatibility and Availability
Apple confirmed that Siri AI will work across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. The feature is available for developer testing immediately, with a public beta expected later this year.
At launch, Siri AI will support English, with additional languages planned for future updates. Apple also noted that some Apple Intelligence features may not be available immediately in certain regions, including China.
Siri AI Gets a Major Upgrade
The biggest highlight is Siri AI, which can access information from apps such as Messages, Mail, and Photos to handle more advanced requests. Apple says the assistant can understand content displayed on a user's screen and combine information from multiple apps and services to deliver more relevant responses.
The company has also introduced a dedicated Siri app, allowing users to start new conversations or continue previous ones from a single interface. Conversation history can be synced across Apple devices through iCloud, making it easier to switch between devices.
Apple is also expanding Siri customization with new voice options and controls.
Apple Intelligence Expands Across Apps
Apple Intelligence is gaining deeper integration across the company's software ecosystem. A new Search or Ask interface combines search, AI assistance, and task management features in one place, enabling users to find information, launch apps, and perform actions using voice or text.
The company is also introducing enhanced writing tools, natural-language controls for Shortcuts, and context-aware suggestions designed to help users complete tasks more efficiently. Visual Intelligence can now analyze a wider range of image content and recommend relevant actions.
AI Features Coming to Safari, Photos, and More
Several Apple apps are receiving AI-powered upgrades. Safari can automatically organize tabs into categories, while Messages, Mail, Calendar, Phone, Home, and Passwords gain smarter suggestions and automation tools.
The Photos app is also getting new AI editing features, including Clean Up, Extend, Reframe, and Spatial Reframing. These tools are designed to simplify photo editing and improve image composition with minimal effort.
New Tools for Developers
Apple is also opening up Apple Intelligence to developers through new frameworks and tools. The company says these resources will make it easier for third-party apps to integrate AI-powered features while maintaining Apple's privacy-focused approach.
With Siri AI, expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities, and new developer tools, Apple is positioning its AI platform as a key part of its software ecosystem going forward.
