You Can Now Create PDFs, Docs, and Sheets Directly Inside Gemini

Google is making Gemini a bit more practical for everyday work. The app can now generate full files directly from a prompt, so you don’t have to jump between tools just to get something usable.

It’s a small change on paper, but it removes a step most people deal with every time they use AI for writing or planning.

Generate Files Without Leaving Gemini

The idea is simple. You type what you want, and Gemini turns it into a file you can download or export.

That could be a PDF summary, a Word document draft, or even a spreadsheet. Instead of copying text out of chat and formatting it elsewhere, the file is created in a ready-to-use format right inside the app.

For example, you can ask it to build a budget sheet and export it as an Excel file. Or take scattered notes and turn them into a structured document. There’s also support for presentations, so you can go from rough ideas to slides without switching apps.

Supported Formats Cover Most Use Cases

Google isn’t limiting this to just one or two formats. Gemini now supports a fairly wide list.

You can generate Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files. Alongside that, it works with common formats like PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and CSV. There’s also support for Markdown, LaTeX, plain text, and RTF.

Most of these can either be downloaded directly to your device or exported to Google Drive, depending on what you prefer.

Available Now

The feature is rolling out globally and is available to all Gemini app users.
