Firmware latest software updates for Pentax K5 camera

Pentax K-5 is a very popular and widely used camera among the amateur photographers and the professionals as well. It’s amazing features like 16.3 mega pixel CMOS sensor and 1080p video recording capabilities is what made this camera a sure favorite. The company has recently announced firmware updates for this amazing imaging device.

With the new firmware update there will be different changes in the existing software. The different versions of the firmware will be getting different changes. The changes include tweaks and improvements to the already present features and also new and improved additions.

The main change that is in the version V1.12 is an image capture correction. Presently some users have reported the presence of light green noise on the image occasionally when taking pictures of night sky with the ASTROTRACER function and high exposure times. This problem is resolved. The version V1.11 will be getting corrected method for getting the GPS data when developing RAW images. V1.10 will get an update that it will correspond to GPS unit.

VerisonV1.03 will get multiple changes. The accuracy of auto focus in low light intensity conditions will be very much improved. The general performance of the device is also improved sufficiently because of better stability features. The changes to the V1.02 version is that the new version will be compatible with SDXC memory card even though the transfer rate is not compatible with UHS speed class. Any ISO setting can be used in the Bulb mode.

The functional sequence for contrast IF is improved and so is the total speed until in focus. Version V1.01 will undergo the change that more number of continuous shots can be taken with RAW format and continuous shooting. The overall stability is increased and this increases the exposure range on HyP mode.

This firmware is put up in the official site of Pentax for K-5 users to download. The user has to see to some things before doing the update. The SD/SDHC card has to be blank or formatted. L-USB 7 cable has to be used if the user intends to connect the camera to the computer and download the firmware.

The battery has to be fully charged before the update. After doing this the update file can be downloaded. Two different files are available; one is for Windows users and the other for Macintosh user. Extract the downloaded file and it will have two files. One is the read me file and the other fie can be used to do the update by copying it to the root directory of the memory card.
