Sony Launches Alpha 7, 7R and RX10 in India: Price Start At Rs 84,990
Aiming to take on Canon and Nikon, Japanese titan Sony brings three professional level cameras into India. The Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R are full blown mirrorless cameras, whereas the Cyber-shot RX10 offers DSLR style power in a compact package. The RX10 will start retailing from December onwards at a price point of Rs. 84,990. On the other hand, the Alpha 7 and Aplha 7R will cost Rs1,24,990 and 94,990 respectively.
RX10
The Cyber-shot RX10 is a "bridge-style" camera targeting existing consumers who already own DSLR camera. Definitely, Sony must have tool cues from the RX100, while designing the RX10. The RX100 was launched in India back in August, and largely praised by the main stream critics. The RX10 comes with a 20.2-megapixel EXMOR R image sensor.
The camera is also powered by BIONZ X engine that helps to overcome excessive noise and delivers sharp and clean pictures. The camera also incorporates fixed Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm (35mm equivalent) F2.8 lens.
Moreover, movie footage can be captured at selectable 50p (AVCHD progressive) or cinematic 25p frame rates, with full control over P/A/S/M exposure modes. The device is compatible with Android and iOS devices via Wi-Fi. Moreover, consumers can record videos in Full HD format too. The RX10 can processor RAW image files.
Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R
The Alpha 7 comes with a resolution of 24.3 megapixels, while the Alpha 7R offers even more clarity at 36.4 megapixels. Both cameras have 35mm full frame Exmor CMOS sensor. Moreover, these cameras have an ability to shoot pro-quality Full HD video in 50/25p. The Alpha 7R features a new ‘gapless' on-chip lens design that eliminates gaps between adjacent pixels. These new cameras also feature Wi-Fi and NFC functionality.
