Here 5 easy ways to speed up your Ubuntu systems!
Although a majority of the world still runs Windows or macOS on their systems, Ubuntu happens to be still in existence due to its lower file size for installation and also because it is available for free.
The quick booting time and swift usage of the operating system, however, fades away pretty quickly compared to the others. It can be quickly brought back to its previous speed with these simple and quick fixes.
Startup apps
You can check which apps are slowing your system startups and disable them. Enter the below-mentioned code in the Terminal and you will be able to see all the apps that load when system is turned on:
"sudo sed -i 's/NoDisplay=true/NoDisplay=false/g' /etc/xdg/autostart/*.desktop"
Fix bugs
It is always a good habit to stay updated at through the various discussions and bug fixes that are fixed. These groups have a lot of developers who often bring about a lot of ideas to fix bugs as well as to speed up your system.

Adaptive Readahead
This plugin learns the apps that are used the most by a user every time the system starts. Once it analyzes the usage and identifies the app, it ensures that the next time you load your system the app opens faster.
Swap
This next step will require some additional commands to be run, so do pay attention. It is best done on a PC that has very less RAM and is an old system. The swappiness value determines the amount of data that is written to the virtual drive. The default value is 60, and we will require you to reduce the value.
Open the Terminal and enter the following command:
"gedit /etc/sysctl.conf"
Scroll down to the bottom of the document and add the additional parameters.
"# Decrease swappiness value
vm.swappiness=10"
