Apple Festive Sale Deals 2026: iPhone 17, MacBook Air M5 and iPad Air M4 prices, and What You Actually Save

Both the big ones land this week. Amazon's Great Indian Festival opens on October 8 for everyone, with early deals already running. Flipkart's Big Billion Days follows on October 9, with a day of early access on October 8 for Plus, VIP and Black members and holders of its co-branded credit cards.

Apple is the headline act on both platforms, as it is every year. And as every year, the way these prices get presented is doing a lot of work.

Start with What Happened to the iPhone 17's Price Tag

The iPhone 17 came to India at Rs 82,900 for the 256GB model. After the iPhone 18 series and the iPhone Duo arrived, Apple revised its India pricing upward, and the same phone now sits at Rs 99,900 on Apple's own store.

Flipkart will list it at Rs 84,999 during Big Billion Days. Stack an ICICI or Axis credit card offer of Rs 2,000 and an exchange bonus of up to Rs 3,000, and you reach roughly Rs 79,999. Flipkart's own co-branded cards reportedly push it a little under that.

Measured against Rs 99,900, that reads as a saving of close to Rs 20,000. Measured against what the phone actually cost at launch, you are saving about Rs 3,000, and only if you have an old phone to trade in and the right card in your wallet.

I am not saying it is a bad price. Rs 79,999 for a current-generation base iPhone is reasonable. I am saying the Rs 20,000 figure is an artefact of a price hike, not a festive discount, and the banners will not tell you that.

The Apple Prices Worth Knowing

The MacBook Air M5 is the cleanest deal on this list. Rs 1,24,990 for the 16GB and 512GB configuration is a real drop from the Rs 1,49,900 MRP, and that one has not been through a recent list-price revision. If you are buying a Mac this year, this is the one to watch.

The iPad Air M4 at Rs 67,999 is the other straightforward win, cutting more than Rs 20,000 off its current listing. Amazon has been calling it the biggest deal of its sale, and for once that is close to accurate.

The MacBook Neo 13-inch shows up at Rs 67,990 on both platforms in various listings, which suggests the two are matching each other rather than competing. Do not expect one to undercut the other by much on Apple hardware. They rarely do.

Read the Word "Effective" Every Single Time

Every number above that mentions offers is an effective price, and that word is carrying weight.

An effective price typically assumes you are paying with a specific bank's credit card, that you are trading in a working old device that clears the top exchange slab, and sometimes that you have clipped a coupon on the product page. Miss any one of those and your billed amount goes up by thousands.

The exchange bonus is where most people lose money quietly. Platforms quote the maximum bonus, which applies to a narrow set of recent trade-in devices in good condition. Your three-year-old phone with a scratched screen will not get you there.

My advice, the same as every sale season: add the product to your cart, apply everything you are actually eligible for, and look at the final payable number before you decide. That figure and the banner figure are often two different phones.

Should You Buy Now or Wait

If you want a current iPhone and you have a trade-in, this week is a fair time to buy. The price will not improve meaningfully before Diwali.

If you are eyeing the iPhone 15 at around Rs 63,900, think harder. That is a 2023 phone running on borrowed update time, and the gap to a discounted iPhone 17 is smaller than it looks once you factor in how long you will keep it.

For Macs and iPads, buy now. Those two deals are the real ones in this sale, and Apple's laptop and tablet pricing in India does not move much outside these windows.
