If you've been eyeing a mid-range smartphone with a premium design, now might be the right time to grab one. The Motorola Edge 50, which launched in India last year for Rs 27,999, is now available on Flipkart for Rs 21,999.

On top of that, there's an additional Rs 1,500 discount on credit card EMI transactions, making the deal even sweeter.

Hardware and Software: A Familiar Setup

The Edge 50 runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It comes with Android 14 and Motorola's Hello UI, which keeps things relatively clean, with regular software and security updates.

Display and Build: Curved OLED and Water Resistance

The phone features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ curved pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 10-bit color, reaches a peak brightness of 1,900 nits, and has a 360Hz touch sampling rate for better responsiveness. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 provides screen protection.

In terms of durability, the Edge 50 has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and meets MIL-810H military-grade certification. It is available in Jungle Green and Pantone Peach Fuzz color options.

Camera Setup: Telephoto Lens and a 32MP Selfie Camera

Motorola has included a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom. The front houses a 32MP selfie camera.

Battery, Charging, and Connectivity

The 5,000mAh battery supports 68W fast wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. Connectivity features include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB Type-C. The phone also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Should You Get It?

At its new Rs 21,999 price tag, the Edge 50 offers a curved OLED display, clean Android experience, and a telephoto lens, which are not always common in this price range. However, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset is now dated, and other brands offer newer and better processors.

If camera versatility, a premium display, and wireless charging are priorities, this could be a good deal. Otherwise, checking out alternatives might be worth considering.
