You Can Get The M5 MacBook Air For Under Rs 1 Lakh, But There's A Catch

Apple's MacBook Air powered by the M5 chip is now available at a discounted price in India. The laptop's 15-inch variant with 16GB RAM is currently listed at a direct Rs 15,910 discount. But, you can get the laptop for even a lower price. Read on.

Apple M5 MacBook Air Deal: How Much Can You Save?

The Apple M5 MacBook Air is listed at Rs 1,33,990, down from its MRP of Rs 1,49,900 on Flipkart. This means that you already get a discount of Rs 15,910 without exchanging an old device. Now there is a way to bring the laptop's final price down to Rs 93,990. But, there is a catch. You can do this only if you have an old device ready to trade in.

For instance, we tried checking how much the price will come down if one trades in the M2 MacBook Air. To our surprise, it led to an additional discount of up to Rs 40,000 which is a pretty solid deal. Hence, this brings the effective price of the M5 MacBook Air down to as low as Rs 93,990. You can also exchange an old phone, tablet, or any other device.

Do remember that the exchange discount depends on the device you trade in, its condition and the final exchange value offered at checkout.

Apple M5 MacBook Air: What Do You Get?

The M5 MacBook Air retains Apple's familiar thin and light aluminium design. It is available in 13-inch and 15-inch variants, with the main upgrades arriving under the hood.

The laptop is powered by Apple's M5 chip, which features a 10-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU. Apple claims that the new chip delivers up to four times faster AI performance compared to the M4 MacBook Air, while offering up to 9.5 times faster AI performance than the M1 model.

The M5 chip also brings improved graphics performance. The laptop features enhanced shader cores and a third-generation ray tracing engine, with Apple claiming up to 1.5 times faster 3D rendering compared to the M4 MacBook Air.

The M5 MacBook Air also gets higher memory bandwidth of 153GB per second, which is around 28% higher than the M4 model. This should help with demanding workloads and multitasking.

Storage is another major upgrade. Apple increased the starting storage to 512GB, doing away with the 256GB base configuration. Users can also configure the laptop with up to 4TB of storage.

For connectivity, the M5 MacBook Air features Apple's N1 wireless chip, which brings Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support. The laptop also retains two Thunderbolt 4 ports, MagSafe charging and support for up to two external displays.

The 13-inch model features a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, while the 15-inch version gets a 15.3-inch screen. Both displays offer 500 nits of brightness. Apple also claims up to 18 hours of battery life.
