Google Adds Free YouTube Premium Lite to Its AI Pro Subscription

Google just gave its AI Pro subscription a massive value boost at its annual I/O developer conference. If you're paying for the premium tier, you are now getting YouTube Premium Lite bundled into your plan at no extra charge.

The move looks like a direct play to make the monthly subscription a much easier pill to swallow, even for people who aren't using AI tools every single day. In India, the Google AI Pro tier is priced at ₹1,950 per month. Given everything that is baked into the package, the math is starting to look incredibly generous for heavy Google users.

More Than Just Chatbots

While the subscription is named after AI, the cloud storage upgrade alone makes it competitive. Google recently bumped the storage for AI Pro up to a massive 5TB. That space is shared across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos.

On top of that, you get full access to Gemini Pro models, advanced image and video generation tools, and NotebookLM Pro. Google is also throwing in priority access to its new Antigravity agentic platform and bundling Health Premium and Home Premium services into the same monthly fee.

You can grab the Google AI Pro plan for half price at ₹975 per month for the first six months, after which it goes to ₹1,950.

How the YouTube Benefit Works

The addition of YouTube Premium Lite means you can watch most YouTube and YouTube Kids videos without annoying ad interruptions, download videos for offline viewing, and keep videos playing in the background while using other apps.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind, though. Unlike the full YouTube Premium tier, the Lite version doesn't include the standalone YouTube Music Premium app. You might still see occasional ads on Shorts, search results, and music-focused content.

If you want a completely ad-free music and video experience, Google is offering AI Pro subscribers the option to upgrade to full YouTube Premium at a steep discount, or you can jump to the newly announced ₹6,500 per month AI Ultra tier, which includes the full Premium experience out of the box.

For everyone else, the Lite version activates automatically on your account as long as you aren't already paying for a standalone YouTube plan.
