To recall, the Nothing Phone 3 was unveiled in India with a starting price of Rs 79,999, although it got a massive discount during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, although this did include certain offers and other clauses.

Now, the Nothing Phone 3 is currently available at a massive discount on Flipkart. And there are no catches or clauses! The Nothing Phone 3 is currently priced at Rs 39,999 on Flipkart for the base 12GB/256GB model, while the 16GB/512GB variant costs Rs 49,999.

Additionally, customers can get an instant discount of Rs 2,000 using Flipkart Axis or Flipkart SBI cards. While the latest price cut on the Nothing Phone 3 (Review) will be limited to the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, while the timing of this discount is certainly welcome, it also opens up room for justified criticism of Nothing's strategy.

Not A Good Look for Nothing

On one hand, slashing the Nothing Phone 3 from its launch price of ₹79,999 (for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant) to as low as ₹39,999 (or even lower via sale bundles) is a bold move that dramatically improves its value proposition-especially in a competitive flagship-market landscape. For buyers who have been holding out for a more accessible entry point, this new price point is hard to ignore.

But the flip side is hard to defend. Many early adopters paid the full price (or close to it), trusting the product's projected long-term value. For them, such a drastic discount feels like a betrayal-like they overpaid not for performance, but for timing. A near-50 percent drop in a short span can erode confidence in the brand's pricing discipline and respect for its first customers.

Furthermore, the fact that earlier buyers did not receive meaningful compensations (e.g. bonus accessories, trade-in credits, or loyalty perks) exacerbates the frustration. Brands that launch premium devices should ideally honour early supporters, either through retrospective offers or other goodwill gestures, rather than blindsiding them with steep markdowns.
