Google's June 2026 Android Drop: From Fake Calls to AI Wardrobes, Every New Feature Coming to Your Phone
Google's June 2026 Android Drop is rolling out now, and it's a solid mix of safety, personalization, and cross-platform improvements. Here's everything that's new.

Fake Call Detection Is the One to Know About
The most useful addition this month is fake call detection in the Phone by Google app. It can now verify whether an incoming call is actually coming from your contact's device. If a scammer is spoofing a number you trust, you'll get a warning before the conversation goes anywhere.
It works through a digital handshake using end-to-end encrypted RCS and runs automatically in the background. No setup needed, it's on by default once the requirements are met. You'll need Android 12 or above with the Phone by Google app, Contacts, and Google Messages installed with RCS active on both ends. Pixel devices get it first.
Circle to Search Now Covers the Whole Outfit
Circle to Search picked up multi-object identification earlier this year, letting you identify every piece of an outfit in a single search without switching apps. It was limited to Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 series at launch. This month it's expanding to all Android 14 and above devices that support Circle to Search.
Google Photos Is Getting a Digital Wardrobe
Google Photos is getting a personal digital closet that catalogs the clothes you wear in your photo library, organizes them into browsable snapshots, and lets you mix, match, and virtually try on outfits. It's a genuinely useful idea for anyone who's ever forgotten they owned something. Rollout begins next week for eligible users in the US, India, and Brazil on Android 10 and above.
Personal Safety Features Now Cover Kids Under 13
The Personal Safety app is expanding to younger users. Kids under 13 will be able to display medical information and emergency contacts on their lock screen, and turn on car crash detection, which automatically calls emergency services and texts emergency contacts after an accident. Teens also get access to location features like Safety Check and real-time sharing with emergency contacts. The app is available globally.
Play Books Gets an AI Reading Companion
Gemini is coming to Google Play Books. Tap "Catch me up" for a recap of what you've read so far, or highlight a passage to ask questions about themes, characters, and context without leaving the page. Book insights starts rolling out today for select English titles, including thousands available at no charge.
Quick Share Now Works With AirDrop on More Devices
Quick Share's AirDrop compatibility is expanding to more Android phones this month, making it easier to send photos, videos, and documents to iPhone users with or without an internet connection.
New Emoji Kitchen Combinations
Gboard is getting new Emoji Kitchen combos this month, leaning into bugs and small animals. Bees mixed with a diamond ring is apparently a thing now. Small update, but Emoji Kitchen combinations have a way of becoming more popular than expected.
