Instagram Blend Explained: A New Way to Share and Watch Reels Together

Many of us are quite addicted to watching Instagram Reels, and we tend to share them frequently with our friends via DMs. Most of the time, we just want them to see and enjoy the same Reels we do. That's exactly where Instagram Blend comes in.

Blend basically lets you and your friends create a unique feed of Instagram Reels based on content suggested for each participant. In this story, we have explained everything about Instagram Blend and how to use it.

How Instagram Blend Works

Blends can be accessed within your Instagram chats. You can invite your friend or a group of people. When you invite them to a blend, they will be asked to accept the invitation.

Once the other person accepts the Blend invitation, your chat's Blend will be created. The blend will be updated daily with new content based on the Instagram activity of people in the blend. It will also update when a reel is reshared to the chat.

Each Reel is labeled with the name of the person or people it was suggested for, and recommendations appear only for those who join the Blend.

Each of your chat can have its own unique Blend with different participants, and a notification is sent to the chat whenever the Blend is updated with new content.

How to Invite Your Friend to Blend

Step 1: First, open the Instagram app and open the chat that that you would like to start a blend with.
Step 2: At the top-right of the chat, tap 'Blend', which is placed before call.
Step 3: Once done, your friend will be invited to participate in the Blend. After accepting, a Blend will be created. Your friend's suggested reels are only added to the blend after they have accepted the invitation.

While viewing Reels in a Blend, you can send a message or quick reaction about a specific Reel directly to chat. The Reel you're responding to will appear alongside your message. Moreover, you can also, like, comment on, or share a Reel publicly using the icons on the right.

If you want to remove any reel from a blend, just tap at the bottom-right of the reel you want to remove. And then click on Remove from your blends.

Even you can leave a Blend. For that, open the Instagram app and tap the chat with the Blend that you want to leave. Then at the top-right of the chat, tap Blend. Now, click on Leave this blend.

How to Manage Blend Content Suggestions

If you'd like to see more or less of a certain type of content in your Blends, here's a step-by-step guide on how to manage it:

Step 1: Tap the ⋮ (three dots) icon at the bottom-right corner of a Reel in your Blend.

Step 2: Select Interested or Not Interested to adjust the types of Reels suggested to you.
