Nothing Launches Incubator Program for Indian Students: What It Is and Who Can Apply
Nothing is inviting India’s next generation of innovators to rethink what tech can be. The London-based company has launched its first-ever student-focused initiative in the country—Nothing Incubator—a competition aimed at uncovering raw ideas from students who are ready to challenge norms and make tech feel exciting again.
This isn’t just a branding exercise. With a structured format, real-world mentorship, and meaningful rewards on the line, the incubator is designed to give students a shot at building something impactful—and possibly even turning it into a career opportunity.

Who’s Eligible to Apply?
The competition is open to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students from over 60 top colleges and universities across India. That includes names like:
- IIM Ahmedabad
- IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras
- BITS Pilani
- FMS Delhi
- XLRI Jamshedpur
- SPJIMR Mumbai
Students from all academic backgrounds—tech and non-tech—are eligible. Teams can include 1 to 3 members from the same institution, and cross-year and cross-specialization groups are encouraged. The only requirement is that participants register using their official college email IDs.
What’s the Theme?
The central idea behind this competition is straightforward: “Making Tech Fun Again.” Every submission—whether it's a product, platform, or concept—needs to show how it brings this theme to life.
It’s not just about functionality, but creativity and user experience.

Here’s How the Competition Works
Round 1: Idea Submission
July 31 to August 24, 2025: Each team submits a one-slide pitch that outlines their idea and explains how it aligns with the competition’s theme. Top entries will be shortlisted for the next round.
Round 2: Strategic Roadmap
September 5 to September 14, 2025: Shortlisted teams will submit a three-page deck with a detailed roadmap for their concept. This includes audience insights, projected financials, and a clear plan for scalability over three years.
Grand Finale
Finalist teams will present their ideas through a live three-minute pitch to a jury panel made up of industry leaders, venture capitalists, and startup mentors. A PDF version of the pitch must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
Prizes and Career Perks
Nothing has laid out a strong set of rewards for top performers:
- Winner: ₹2,00,000 cash prize, a Nothing Phone (3) for each team member, and a winner’s certificate
- First Runner-Up: A Nothing Phone (3a) Pro and a certificate for each team member
- Second Runner-Up: A Nothing Phone (3a) and a certificate for each member
Beyond prizes, select finalists may also be considered for pre-placement interviews or offers, depending on their performance and qualifications.
Important Notes
Registrations are open now via Unstop, and only full-time students are eligible to participate. All submissions and creative material generated during the event will remain the intellectual property of Nothing, and may be used in promotional, training, or internal documentation by the company.
So if you're a student with a big idea—and a bit of courage to pitch it—this might be your shot.
