CES 2015: Omate Unveils Racer and Roma Smartwatches under Circular Lineup
Smartwatches are a relatively new to electronics gadget industry, but these devices are poised to hit the mainstream in the tech market. Last year we saw major players such as LG, Motorola, Samsung, Apple, Pebble releasing their smartwatch line-ups. At the same time, Omate which has been in the wearable smartwatch business for quite a long time has reportedly announced to showcase its new range at CES 2015.

Bascially, Omate is a telecom wearable software and hardware design company which aims to make the World connected through our wrist. As per the report, Omate will be launching two new smartwatches namely the Panerai-inspired Roma and the Racer which will be equipped with MediaTek MT2502 chipset "Aster". Both the devices will be running on the proprietary software and you cannot install any Android wear app in the smartwatch. Also the range will offer 2G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Like seen in the previous smartwatches, it will function mainly as notification center with basic activity tracking, customizable watch face and with low power chipset, the battery life can last for a week with single charge.
The Racer smartwatch contains the price tag of $99 (Approx Rs. 6,275) until January 15th and will be hiked to $129 (Approx Rs. 8,176) after. The pre-order for Racer will be starting from tomorrow, while the shipments are expected to start some time next month. Further, the Roma smartwatch are expected to be available on retail stores in U.S and U.K by March 2015.
