Being one of the leading HDTV manufacturers, Samsung has come up with new higher end models of plasma and LCD varieties at CES. The common factor included in these models is a new AL5 quad core CPU with 1.35GHz.

The company claims that the new models can thus get 3.6x speed boost compared to the dual cores released last year. Apart from this extra power, the new HDTV sets can decode HEVC video. Such a kind of television set has not been released in the market till date.

Hence, the new venture of Samsung can be considered as a milestone in the history of HDTV. The voice control feature is improved in the new sets by including natural voice commands. The two-handed gesture recognition and pinch to zoom feature are also supported in these models.

All of these models will be released probably in the first half of 2013. It is reported that they will include AllShare DLNA client of Samsung and S-Recommendation lists. Picture quality enhancements are the main feature incorporated in F8500 series plasma model which will be available in white and black shades.

It is possible to find this model in three sizes viz 64, 60 and 51 inches. Flagship F7500 LED 3D TV is another new model to be released in 60, 55 and 46 inches. The bigger brother of this model, F8000 series is reportedly available in about five sizes up to 75 inches. This model features a built-in camera as well as mic.

The new models also include Smart Evolution slot similar to higher end Samsung HDTVs of 2012 for facilitating future expansion. The users of last year's sets will be also able to buy Smart Evolution Kit for adding the features of new models. This can avoid the replacement of the older sets with newer ones.
