Currently, we may not have flying cars yet, but the technology has advanced by leaps and bounds as we all know. Among all the technological things, one thing that changed our life the most is 'Smartphone'.
These days, we are more engrossed with a smartphone even while walking, eating, and sleeping. Also, other techs like smartwatches, smart speakers and many have made us desk-bound too. Today, we have compiled a list of stating the 7 effects of using smartphones and other gadgets.
Coloured dreams
According to the research in 2008, at Scotland's Dundee University, adults of age over 55 who likely grew up with a black and white TV set will more likely to dream in black and white, while the current generation who grew up in the age of colors, is said to experience color dream.
FOMO
FOMO also called Fear of Missing Out. The official definition of FOMO goes like "the blend of anxiety, inadequacy, and irritation that can flare up while skimming social media". This indeed becomes real when we start skimming through the social media, which makes us think about what we are doing with our life. Sometimes, it might cause irritation, frustration too
Short attention span
Since human being started using technology, it has altered the human brain in a more negative way than positive ways. Nowadays, after smartphones, we tend to use more of Gmaps while commuting, search everything on Google, also our attention span has reduced to mere minutes.
Phantom Vibration Syndrome
This is more of a hallucination, where we will be having the perception that one's mobile is vibrating or ringing when it is not. As per the report, a lot of cell phone users are experiencing phantom vibrations, with reported rates ranging from 27.4% to 89%.
Popcorn brain
The current generation is more of snappy, faster when it comes to doing work. Also, we can't adapt to handle the slower pace of real life. This is called Popcorn brain, where constant simulation from electronics makes our brain accustom to "popping" faster information.

Depression
This is one of the most important factors that arise when too much social media is consumed. As per a new study, a lot of anxiety, severe depression, suicide attempts and suicide are rise with the use of smartphones and other devices.
Psychological
These days, most of the people are feeling the compulsion to respond to texts, emails or other alerts as they arrive, allowing or postponing the outside tasks to spend on a current task. Sometimes using two or three gadgets has repeatedly been found to decrease our brains' grey matter density.
