Apple Event October 2026: New Home Hub, Apple TV, Macs and OLED iPad Mini Expected

Apple's October product cycle could be particularly busy this year, with multiple reports pointing to new launches across the smart home, Mac and iPad categories. The company has not confirmed an event or announced any of the rumoured products, so the reported launch dates should be treated as tentative.

The biggest near-term expectation is a smart home-focused launch, potentially followed by Mac and iPad announcements later in October. Here's what Apple could have in store.

Everything Apple Could Launch This Month

Apple Smart Home Launch Could Come First

Apple is reportedly preparing to expand its smart home portfolio with a new screen-based home hub, updated HomePod mini and refreshed Apple TV. These products could be introduced around October 13, although Apple has yet to confirm the date.

The launch would mark an important step in Apple's smart home ambitions. While the company already has the HomePod, Apple TV and Home app, it lacks a dedicated smart display comparable to products offered by Amazon and Google.

New Apple Smart Home Hub

The rumoured Apple smart home hub could be the most significant product in the upcoming lineup. A compact display could provide users with quick access to smart home controls, security cameras, lights, thermostats and media playback without requiring an iPhone or iPad.

The device could also become a central point for Apple's wider Home ecosystem, particularly as the company continues to focus on connected devices, privacy and seamless integration.

New HomePod Mini Could Improve Siri

Apple's current HomePod mini was launched in 2020, making an update long overdue. A refreshed model could feature a newer wireless chip, improved Siri capabilities and better Matter support.

An updated HomePod mini would also give Apple a more competitive entry-level smart speaker as it expands its connected-home strategy.

Apple TV Could Get a Modest Upgrade

A refreshed Apple TV could also arrive alongside the smart home products. While a major redesign is not expected, Apple could introduce a faster processor, improved gaming performance and newer wireless connectivity standards.

For streaming-focused users, these changes could make the Apple TV more capable without significantly changing its existing form factor.

Mac Launches Could Follow Later in October

Apple could hold another launch window during the final week of October, with new Macs among the possible announcements. However, the exact products and timing remain unclear.

Rumours have mentioned updates to the MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac Studio, but these devices are more likely to receive processor upgrades than major redesigns.

A 14-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac or Mac Studio refresh could focus on newer Apple Silicon chips, improved performance, memory configurations and potentially pricing changes.

OLED MacBook Pro Is Probably Further Away

One of the more significant Mac rumours involves a completely redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with OLED displays. However, this should not be confused with an imminent October launch.

Reports have suggested that the future MacBook Pro could feature a thinner design, touch support and a Dynamic Island-style camera cutout. Apple's current MacBook Pro models use Mini-LED displays and retain a traditional notch.

If launched, a touch-enabled MacBook would represent a major departure from Apple's long-standing approach to Mac hardware. However, these redesigned OLED models are expected to arrive later, potentially around late 2026.

OLED iPad Mini Could Bring Bigger Changes

An OLED iPad mini is another product reportedly in Apple's pipeline. The current-generation iPad mini received its major redesign in 2021, introducing an all-screen design and USB-C connectivity.

The next model could reportedly feature an OLED display, newer A-series processor, improved speakers and a landscape-oriented front camera. Higher memory could also help support Apple Intelligence features.

An IP rating has also appeared in some rumours, but this should be treated cautiously. Apple does not currently give its iPads official water and dust resistance ratings comparable to the iPhone.

What to Expect From Apple's October Plans

For now, Apple's smart home products appear to be the more immediate possibility, while the OLED MacBook Pro and iPad mini seem more relevant to the company's longer-term hardware roadmap.

Apple has not officially confirmed the products, launch dates or an October event. Buyers planning to purchase a Mac, iPad or smart home device may therefore want to wait for official announcements before making an upgrade decision.
