Taipei-based technology giant BenQ has launched the company's latest high-end digital home cinema projector- the WI I000. As per BenQ, it is the one and only DLP 4K UHD projector with true 8.3-millionpixel resolution to offer a commercial digital cinema experience right in your living room.

The projector is priced at Rs. 3,99,000 in the Indian market. Besides, the company also announced X12000, however it will be available in the first quarter of 2017 and will sell at Rs. 5,99,000 lakhs.

BenQ WI I000 comes with a native resolution of 2716×1528 and can go upto 3840×2160 with XPR technology. As per BenQ, the W11000 is the only projector in the market that offers true 8.3 million pixels for a larger and sharper image. Other projectors just scale the 1080p format to 4K resolution.

The projector offers contrasts ratio of 50,000:1 and the brightness levels goes upto 2200 lumens. The aspect ratio is 16:9, but as per BenQ, it can also offer a 21:9 ratio.

W11000 underwent over 18 months of rigorous development and 200 THX laboratory tests covering over 500 data points to ensure strict color accuracy, precise gamma, ideal color temperature, enhanced uniformity, and super high native contrast ratio for THX Certification. As per BenQ, the projector has tested through three rounds of live testing at THX headquarters in San Francisco to make sure it offers supreme overall image performance and THX Mode, to deliver an accurate out-of-box picture quality matching the authentic cinematic content as filmmakers originally intended.

W11000 is also ISFccc calibration ready, enabling professional in-home custom calibration.

Comparing to other projectors, WI I000 is quite smaller and portable in size. The projector's unobstructed port architecture features extra space to accommodate thick high-quality cables and HDMI / power cable locking to hold them securely in place. To fit perfectly into any home cinema, W11000 features H/V lens shift and 1.5X big zoom for custom installations. The heatsink fans are placed on the front on either sides of the lens of the projector.

WI I000 has two HDMI ports (with MHL support), a LAN port, a USB Type mini-B port, PC (D-Sub), RS232 and standard audio in and out. The projector comes with a fully functional remote control and has knobs on top to adjust the picture.

The single-DMD DLP technology ensures absolute image integrity and color accuracy without artifacts that can be introduced by panel alignment issues, especially critical at 4K with much finer pixels than 1080p.

Besides, BenQ also has a highly optimized 4K optical system then employs 14 high-resolution elements, a true zoom system, and special low-dispersion lens coatings to preserve visual quality for an authentic digital cinema experience.
