Computex 2025: From 610Hz Displays to 14GB/s SSDs, Here’s the Fastest Tech We’ve Seen So Far

Let's be honest, every year, Computex promises to show us the future of computing. But this year in Taiwan, it didn't just show up-it screamed at 610Hz, booted at 14.9 GB/s, and ran AI models faster than we could blink. If speed is your thing, Computex 2025 delivered.

Here's a tour of the fastest tech we've seen so far.

Computex 2025: 610Hz Displays, 14GB/s SSDs, & the Fastest Tech on Show

RTX 5060: The People's GPU Finally Arrives

Nvidia's RTX 4060 has been dominating Steam's Hardware Survey for a while now, and its successor is finally here: the RTX 5060. Launched at Computex alongside its laptop counterpart, the 5060 is available to buy today. That sounds like great news, until you realize Nvidia didn't provide review units to the press. So right now, it's very much a "trust us" kind of deal.

Specs are still partly under wraps, but here's what we do know:

  • 19 TFLOPS shader power, up from 15 on the 4060
  • 614 AI TOPS (thanks to new Tensor Cores), up from 242
  • DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation, allowing for frame interpolation up to 4X
  • Same $299 price tag and 8GB VRAM

The boost in raw power looks decent-around a 20% uplift over the 4060-but there's some skepticism around Nvidia's Multi-Frame Generation. It promises crazy frame rates, but the more AI-generated frames you inject, the worse input lag gets. And honestly, not many games support it natively.

Still, the RTX 5060 is a meaningful bump in the midrange, and Nvidia says supply won't be an issue. Fingers crossed.

MSI's 500Hz OLED Monitor Brings the Heat

Let's talk displays. MSI showed off the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50, a 27-inch, 1440p gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time.

Yes, you read that right-500Hz. This is made possible by MSI's third-gen QD-OLED tech, which also brings stellar color (99% DCI-P3) and deep contrast, plus AI-driven burn-in protection.

Their new AI Care Sensor detects when you're in front of the screen and adjusts settings or powers down when you're gone. It even works alongside OLED Care 2.0 features like pixel shifting and logo detection. Pricing is set at $899 with a launch date of July 17.

Asus ROG Goes All In: 610Hz and Super TN Panels

If 500Hz wasn't fast enough for you, Asus rolled in with the ROG Strix Ace XG248QSG, boasting a 610Hz overclockable refresh rate. It's the fastest display announced at Computex-and possibly anywhere. Asus uses a Super TN panel here, which is all about blistering speed (0.1ms) at the cost of some color fidelity. Still, you get 90% DCI-P3 coverage and brightness up to 370 nits.

Input lag is a focus here too, with Asus claiming 0.8ms system latency using GameFast Tech. And unlike many flashy gaming displays, this one is all-black with no RGB nonsense. It's unapologetically practical-just how esports purists like it.

Crucial T710 SSD: 14.9 GB/s and Still Cooler Than You

When we talk fast, we have to talk storage. Crucial's T710 SSD was one of the wildest things here. This PCIe Gen5 drive hits 14.9 GB/s read and 13.8 GB/s write speeds, with 2.2 million IOPS and massive power efficiency gains-67% less power for reads, 80% less for writes.

It also comes in laptop-friendly single-sided designs and slimmer heatsink models, with subtle white LED activity lighting. It'll be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions starting June 1 (bare), with heatsink models coming later.

Intel Arc Pro B580: 24GB of VRAM for AI Workstations

Intel's getting serious about the pro market. The new Arc Pro B580 series includes two new workstation cards:

  • Arc Pro B50: $299, 16GB VRAM
  • Arc Pro B60: ~$500, 24GB VRAM

These are targeted at AI inference workstations, with the B60 set to power Intel's upcoming "Project Battlematrix" systems. If you're doing anything involving AI model training or inference, these GPUs are built to give you workstation-class VRAM without blowing the entire budget.

MSI Claw A8: A Real Steam Deck Challenger

MSI's new handheld, the Claw A8 BZ2EM, is a serious update over the earlier Intel version. This one's powered by AMD's Ryzen Z2 Extreme with Radeon 890M graphics, paired with up to 24GB of RAM. You also get:

  • 8" 1080p display with 120Hz refresh
  • 80Wh battery-twice the size of the Steam Deck OLED
  • PCIe 4.0 SSD slot + microSD

It runs Windows 11 and seems ready to challenge Valve's dominance in the handheld PC space. Pricing wasn't announced, but this is one of the most promising competitors we've seen so far.

Asus ProArt RTX 50 Series: Forget RGB, Try Woodgrain

Asus is targeting content creators with a touch of class. The new ProArt RTX 5080 series GPUs come wrapped in woodgrain shrouds, ditching the gamer-RGB aesthetic for a cleaner, studio-friendly look.

Computex 2025: 610Hz Displays, 14GB/s SSDs, & the Fastest Tech on Show

But it's not just about looks. These GPUs include:

  • USB-C ports for monitors and peripherals
  • M.2 SSD slot (on the 5080 OC) for streamlined editing setups

This is the rare high-performance GPU that doesn't look out of place next to your monitor speakers and mechanical keyboard.

And Then There Was Overclocking Madness...

What would Computex be without some world records? Over at G.SKILL's OC World Record Stage, overclockers pushed:

  • DDR5 to 12,112 MT/s, a new world record
  • Intel Arrow Lake CPUs to 7.5 GHz across all cores

These are the kinds of speeds that don't even seem real anymore, achieved using liquid nitrogen cooling in carefully controlled setups. Not something you'll do at home, but proof that the performance ceiling keeps rising.

Computex Still Sets the Pace

If there's one theme to Computex 2025, it's speed. Whether it's frames per second, gigabytes per second, or AI operations per second, everything is getting faster-sometimes absurdly so. From the RTX 5060 to 610Hz monitors, next-gen SSDs to handheld gaming rigs, this year's show proved that the PC industry is still sprinting.

We'll need more hands-on testing, of course. But if you're building or upgrading a system in 2025, Computex just showed you the blueprint for what's next.
