Almost everyday the tech world is witnessing a lot of product launches right from smartphones, tablets, ultrabooks to media players and headsets. Though the tech enthusiasts will keep themselves updated with what is happening in the tech world instantly, Gizbot has the tradition of offering a weekend update on the list of smartphones and tablets that are launched over the week for those who have missed some event.

Some of them are highly worthy as they have been eagerly awaited by the consumers all over the global market. And, of course, there are some silent launches that have still not been announced in India.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3

Samsung has announced the launch of Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 - the much rumored phablets. The handsets will be released gradually from May and they have all the software features as Galaxy S4.

Galaxy Mega 6.3 houses a 6.3 inch LCD HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.7GHz dual core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera for video calling, 8GB/16GB internal storage, 1.5GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, IR Sensor, NFC, 4G and 3,200 mAh battery.

At the same time, Galaxy Mega 6.8 packs a 5.8 inch LCD qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 147GHz dual core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage, 1.5GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, IR Sensor and 2,600 mAh battery.

The two Mega fonblets have not been announced for India release yet.

HTC One

HTC One has been launched in India with a whopping price tag of Rs 42,900 and it will be available starting from the last week of April. HTC One houses a 4.7 inch Super LCD 3 capacitive touchscreen display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 processor, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, 4MP UltraPixel rear camera with BSI sensor, 2.1MP front camera for video calling, 2GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G, high speed HSPA+, micro USB and a 2,300 mAh battery.

Sony seems to be interested in releasing all its smartphones in India. Soon after the release of Xperia Z in the country, the company has released the Xperia SP at Rs 27,490.

Xperia SP packs a 4.6 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera with autofocus and Exmor RS technology, VGA front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, NFC and a 2,370 mAh battery.

LG unveiled three smartphones at the MWC 2013 tech show and now, the company has released two of them in India - Optimus L3 2 and Optimus L7 2 at Rs 8,800 and Rs 18,650 respectively.

Speaking of specs, Optimus L3 2 is a low-end handset boasting a 3.2-inch IPS LCD display with 240 x 320 pixel resolution, 1GHz processor, 5MP rear camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a-GPS and a 1,540 mAh battery.

When it comes to Optimus L7 2, the handset packs a 4.7 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 1GHz dual-core Cortex A5 processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,460 mAh battery.

Huawei has made the two smartphones - Ascend G510 and Ascend Y300 official in India after the pre-order listings. The handsets are priced at Rs 10,990 and Rs 7,990 respectively.

Ascend G510 houses a 4.5 inch IPS LCD mulit-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, dual core 1.2GHz Cortex A9 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,700 mAh battery.

Ascend Y300 boasts a 4 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1GHz Cortex A5 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,730 mAh battery.

Micromax came up with a budget phablet - Canvas Viva A72 at Rs 6,499. After being spotted online, the handset was released officially. It has basic specifications being an entry-level phablet.

Speaking of specs, Canvas Viva A72 houses a 5 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz single core processor, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, dual SIM support, 256MB RAM, 110MB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3 and a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery offering 280 hours standby and 7 hours talk time.

India based Magicon has launched a budget smartphone dubbed as Magicon Q7 at Rs 8,999. According to the company website, Magicon Q7 features a 4.6 inch capacitive touchscreen display, 1GHz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 8MP rear camera, VGA secondary camera, Android 4.0 ICS operating system, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,600 mAh battery.

UMI S1

Chinese handset vendor, UMI has announced a new quad core processor based phone, called UMI S1, for Rs 12,000. The handset packs a 5 inch capacitive multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2 GHz quad core processor , 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera, Wi-Fi, 3G , Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS , and a 2,020 mAh battery.

Intex has launched a gaming handset - Player in India at Rs 2,790. Intex Player comes with a 2.8-inch 65K TFT touch screen display, 1.3 MP main camera, 4GB memory card (expandable upto 16 GB, Hindi and English language support, Smart dial, auto call record, battery manager, connectivity features including 2G, Bluetooth, USB and 1200 mAh battery.

iBall has launched a tablet dubbed as iSlide 6309i packing impressive specifications and priced at Rs 5,199. The iSlide 6309i with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and with the likes of the other latest offerings.

Nokia 105

Priced at Rs 1,249, Nokia 105 has been finally officially announced and released in India.

The smart and colorful feature phone boasts a 1.45 inch LCD display, 8MB mass memory, a flashlight, FM Radio and an 800 mAh Li-ion battery with 35 days standby and 12.5 hours talk time.

However, Nokia 105 lacks a camera and other connectivity features, however, the phone comes with productivity features including Digital clock, Calculator, Flashlight, Clock, Calendar, Phonebook, Converter, Speaking clock, Expense manager, Alarm clock and will support a few native games.
