In case you have been keeping distant from whatever tech that's happening around you, let us tell you that the mobile technology has already jumped off a smartphone and landed on your wrists via the evolution of fitness and smartbands. And Garmin becomes the latest name to cash in on the new technology.
Keeping the trend up for brand new fitness-oriented bands in the market, Garmin, a global leader in satellite navigation, has today unveiled its brand new Vivofit fitness band.
With the latest release, Vivofit has become the only fitness band that automatically greets users with a personalized daily goal, tracks their progress and reminds them when it's time to move. The device features an unique curved display that always stays on.
Apart from that, the new fitness band also shows steps, goal countdown, calories, distance, and time of day. The device's user replaceable batteries last over one year and Vivofit is water resistant (50m), apart from being compatible with ANT+ heart rate monitors for fitness activities.
Commenting on the new partnership between Garmin and Flipkart, Michael Adnani, VP - Retail & Head - Brand Alliances, Flipkart said: "Flipkart is a preferred partner for leading global and domestic brands to reach out to a wide range of customers in India."
"With this partnership, we are introducing an innovative fitness product for the first time in India. This is an extension of our commitment to bring world-class fitness products for our customers backed by our superior service."
Vivofit is said to learn users' current activity level, and then assigns an attainable daily goal. The device always remind you about moving around. In fact, there's a red move bar that appears on the display after an hour of inactivity and build when users have been sitting too long. Walking for a couple of minutes resets the move bar and get users out of the red.
Vivofit is currently scheduled to be available via Flipkart at Rs. 9,990 in black and slate color in both small and large size. However, interested customers can also purchase purple and blue color belts for the same.
