Google Glass Teardown Reveals Secret Game Center Like Service
Gizbot earlier told you that Google released the spec details of Google Glass. Along with the specifications google mentioned that the MyGlass companion app. Android Police tore down the MyGlass APK and surprisingly, stumbled up on a games folder, which contained details about a never before seen Google Games Service feature list.
Android Police reports that the game list probably has nothing to do with Google Glass, as the device is not capable of running complex apps. The report says the Glass team might have accidentally shipped the full suite of Google Play Services with the MyGlass app. The suite included details about an extensive multiplayer gaming service, along with other gaming features. According to the report, the service is similar to Apple's Game Center and Xbox Live and might be for the Android platform.
On examination of the games folder, files relating to features of the service were found.
The services will offer support for real-time multiplayer and turn-based multiplayer games, in game chat, achievements, leaderboards, invitations and lobbies were found.
It looks like Google is looking to introduce multiplayer gaming, with all guns blazing. Off course the service remains unannounced by the search giant. However the suit appears to be nearly complete. Perhaps, the search giant might unveil the service in the upcoming Google I/O, which is set to happen in May.
