List of Smartphones and Tablets Launched for the Week Ending April 7
Almost everyday the tech world is witnessing a lot of product launches right from smartphones, tablets, ultrabooks to media players and headsets. Though the tech enthusiasts will keep themselves updated with what is happening in the tech world instantly, Gizbot has the tradition of offering a weekend update on the list of smartphones and tablets that are launched over the week for those who have missed some event.
Some of them are highly worthy as they have been eagerly awaited by the consumers all over the global market. And, of course, there are some silent launches that have still not been announced in India.

HTC First
After much rumors and speculations, HTC has launched the Facebook Home based smartphone - HTC First, which is the first official smartphone to have the Facebook launcher. HTC First comes with a 4.3 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixels and 341 ppi pixel density, 1.4GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera with BSI sensor and autofocus, 1.6MP front camera for video calling, 16GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and a 2,000 mAh battery.
LG Optimus L3 2 and Optimus L7 2
At the MWC 2013 tech show in Barcelona, South Korean tech firm LG announced the launch of three smartphones in the Optimus L series. Of the trio, Optimus L3 2 and Optimus L7 2 seem to have silently released into India.The LG India website has listed Optimus L3 2 and Optimus L7 2 smartphones at a price of Rs 8,800 and Rs 18,650 respectively and Optimus L5 2 is reportedly coming later.
Speaking of specs, Optimus L3 2 is a low-end handset boasting a 3.2-inch IPS LCD display with 240 x 320 pixel resolution, 1GHz processor, 5MP rear camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a-GPS and a 1,540 mAh battery.
When it comes to Optimus L7 2, the handset packs a 4.7 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 1GHz dual-core Cortex A5 processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,460 mAh battery.
Lava Iris 455
This week, Lava has launched Iris 455, a Jelly Bean smartphone with dual SIM support, Estimated to be priced below Rs 10,000, Iris 455 comes with a 4.5 inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, VGA front camera for video calling, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 1,500 mAh battery offering 6 hours of talk time.
Micromax A91 Ninja
Micromax has announced the launch of a dual SIM Android ICS smartphone dubbed as A91 Ninja online at a price of Rs 8,499. Specwise, A91 Ninja houses a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, 1GHz dual core MediaTek MT6577 processor, 5MP auto focus rear camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB with microSD card slot and a 1,800 mAh battery.
Sony Xperia E and Xperia E Dual
After many pre-order listings, Xperia E and Xperia E Dual - the budget Jelly Bean smartphones have been made official by Sony. Yes, according to the Sony India product catalogue, Xperia E and E Dual are priced at Rs 10,490 and Rs 11,490 respectively.
To remind you about the specs, both Xperia E and Xperia E Dual will sport a 3.5 inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3.2MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,530 mAh.
Samsung Galaxy Y Plus and Galaxy Young
Samsung has also announced the launch of a couple of its budget dual SIM smartphones online. The company has launched Galaxy Y Plus and Galaxy Young at Rs 6,290 and Rs 8,290 respectively.
Specwise, Galaxy Y Plus is a low-end Android device featuring a 2.8 inch QVGA display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, 850MHz processor, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up 32GB additional storage, 2MP rear camera, Android 4.0 ICS, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and a 1,200mAh battery delivering 6 hours of talk time and 260 hours of standby.
At the same time, Galaxy Young sports a 3.2 inch display with resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, single core 1GHz processor, 3MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS and 1,300mAh battery.
Google Nexus 7 32GB
Asus has announced the launch of the 32GB Nexus 7 in two variants - 3G and Wi-Fi in India. Specwise, Google Nexus 7 sports a 7 inch 10 point multi-touch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, quad core 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS (upgradeable to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean), 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 1.2MP front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4,325 mAh battery and NFC connectivity. Asus has priced the 32GB Nexus 7 at Rs 21,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively based on the variant.
Videocon VT75C
Videocon has officially announced the launch of a 2G voice calling tablet priced at Rs 6,499. The tablet dubbed as Videocon VT75C packs a 7 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 2G SIM card slot, 3G via external dongles, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI port and USB OTG.
