HTC RE Camera Launched In India for Rs 9,990: Specs and Availability
HTC has also launched the RE Camera, a camera accessory for a smartphone to shoot pictures in action. It is quite similar in function to the GoPro cameras. The HTC RE Camera is priced at Rs. 9,990 and will be exclusively available from Snapdeal starting November 5th. However, at the moment above mentioned price is an introductory price and will be changed later.
To talk about the configuration of the Re Camera, it has a 16 megapixel sensor with a 146 degree wide-angle lens, capable of recording full HD video and 120 fps slow motion video at 720p. What is impressive is that it has waterproof body with IP57 rating, which means that with this camera, you can also do underwater photography. It can also record Zoes, just like the other HTC phones. It has accessories for attaching it to things, or the ability to wear it on your body.

The camera has an 8GB of native memory, which further can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. In addition to having built-in Wi-Fi, the HTC RE camera also has USB 2.0 support and Bluetooth v4.0.
Wondering how the device connects to the phone? You will have to get the app that connects over WiFi direct and lets users sync images and videos to the smartphone thereby allowing instant posts to social media. It has an LED indicator that flashes red when you take a picture, stays on while recording video, and flashes blue when slow motion video is activated.
It has a 820mAh in-built battery that lets you continuously record a little more than 1.5 hours of video and click 1,200 16MP photos.
The device is compatible with devices running on Android 4.3 and above and iOS 7 or above.
Commenting on the launch, Chia-Lin Chang, President of Global Sales and Chief Financial Officer, HTC, said, "HTC has continually set the standards in mobile technology since 1997, and once more, we are redefining the concept of imaging forever. As a company we are devoted to innovation, as we endeavor to combine the best experiences with the best hardware design as possible.
Today HTC has taken a bold step to introduce a new product category, with a remarkable little camera called, RE. A product that you once pick up, you will not want to put it down. RE, will allow our users to get out from behind the lens and live and experience moments."
