Huawei Partners With Airtel To Launch Wi-Fi Service For EasyCabs
There are many people who need to stay connected online all the time, for some it's because their jobs demands it, for others it might just be a matter of the lifestyles they lead. People are often spotted using free Wi-Fi facilities that places like coffee shops, airports, hotels, amongst others provide.
What about cabs? For many people, cabs provide daily means of commuting, especially for the ones, who travel in the busy streets of NCR. Some of the passengers travel long distances everyday, with average time of travel reaching up to 1 to 2 hours. Wi-Fi service in these situations does seem like a nice little idea, doesn't it?

Huawei has now partnered with Bharti Airtel to provide free Wi-Fi facility to Easycab commuters in Delhi and NCR. The Chinese tech giant has installed E355 Wi-Fi data cards in as many as 100 EasyCab vehicles to offer 3G Internet service to passengers. Cab drivers will provide with the passwords for the Wi-fi facility, which can be used to access the free Internet service.
The facility to be made available till September 27, the idea behind this is to promote E355 data card that Huawei Devices launched six months ago in India for Rs 2,900.
Anand Narang, director, marketing, Huawei Devices India, says, "Our idea has two parts, one to clear people's doubts that our dongle/data cards can be used not just with a laptop but can be plugged to a switchboard at home, to a cigarette lighter in a car, gaming devices and other things; and secondly, it enables multiple users, unlike the usual data cards that allow single users."
