LG G Watch R To Launch in South Korea On October 14

After Motorola, LG is the second one to come up with the circular smartwatch called the G Watch R. The wearable timepiece was fist announced at the IFA 2014 trade show held in Berlin, Germany last month.

Now, according to the latest online report, it is said that LG will launch the LG G Watch R, in South Korea on October 14. However, it is not sure when the company will launch the smartwatch in other markets but it can be expected to hit most of the markets by the end of October.

Regarding the price structure, the company has confirmed that the LG G Watch R will cost KRW 352,000 (Approx. Rs. 20,300). if the price remains the same, you can consider LG's circular smartwatch as the most expensive smartwatch powered by Google's Android Wear. Others running on the name platform are far cheaper.

The LG G Watch R features a circular 1.3-inch Plastic OLED or P-OLED display, a technology first seen with the LG's G Flex smartphone. The display comes with a 360x360 pixel resolution and unlike the Moto 360, is claimed to utilize 100 percent of the screen of the watch.

The G Watch R is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 512MB of RAM. The smartwatch houses 4GB of on-board storage and is fueled by a 410mAh battery. The smartwatch is also IP67-certified and is claimed by the firm to run for 30 minutes in 1 meter of water.

The G Watch R smartwatch features a stainless steel frame, and is supported by a 22mm calf skin leather strap. The G Watch R will be available only in Black color. It is also water and dust resistant and packs Gyro, Accelerometer, Compass, Barometer, and heart-rate sensors.
