These so-called "Heart Rate Earphones", use pulse-measuring technology from PerformTek to calculate heart activity from blood flow in the ears. It may not necessarily sound easy on ears, but the company could have had added a dedicated heart rate monitor, like the Samsung Gear Fit.

LG's Lifeband Touch is indeed a smart fitness tracking device. Neither LG nor we're comparing the device with a leading smartwatch available in the market. The Band boasts of a sensible design and better build quality, when compared to any other leading fitness tracking bands from rivals. LG hasn't released the retail price of the Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones, so it would be tough to give a final verdict at this moment.
