Google is rolling out new features to its Android Wear platform. After introducing few more watch face options, it recently added the ‘Find My Phone' feature to Android Wear smartwatches. This feature will basically help you find your misplaced Android phone with a voice command to your smartwatch.

The ‘Find My Phone' feature is on an automatic global gradual rollout, and will be seen on all Android Wear devices in the next few weeks. The feature is basically an update to Google's Android Device Manager that was launched in 2013 to locate lost or misplaced Android devices, which now has Android Wear compatibility. This update lets you say ‘Ok, Google. Start. Find my phone,' or select the ‘Find my phone' option in the start menu, to trigger off a loud alarm on your smartphone, thus helping you to locate it.

"Today we're making Android Device Manager even more useful by introducing support for Android Wear to help you find your lost device. Misplaced your Android phone? No problem! Android Wear connects your phone to your wrist, and together with Android Device Manager, you can make sure it stays that way," the company said in a blog post.

This is a useful feature, as most of us forget where we keep our smartphones, and instead of running to a desktop to start Android Device Manager, triggering off the alarm from your wrist is a much easy task.

Apart from this, Google also has plans to turn on Wi-Fi support by default on Android Wear-powered watches in the next update, making it possible for the watches to glean notifications and other information without needing to be tethered to a smartphone.

Another interesting addition to the Android Wear platform is going to be support for gesture control. This will enable users to flick their wrist to scroll through notifications and Google Now cards, finding a way to use the Watch without swiping on the screen or using voice commands.
