Apple AirTag 2 Tipped to Launch at September 9 Event - Here's What to Expect

Apple's next big product launch event, "Awe dropping", is scheduled to take place on September 9, 2025, at 10:30 PM IST. The keynote will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, where the Cupertino-based tech giant will unveil the iPhone 17 series.

A new report now suggests that AirTag 2 could also make its debut at the same event. Here's what to expect from the next-gen AirTag.

AirTag 2 Launch Likely Soon

The AirTag 2 was initially expected to launch around mid-year, but that window has already passed. Now, new reports suggest it could debut on September 9 alongside other products, including the iPhone 17 series, AirPods Pro 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3. However, Apple has not officially confirmed the arrival of its next-gen AirTag.

AirTag 2—What to expect?

According to Mark Gurman, the new tracker will look quite similar to the current model, so users shouldn't expect a major design overhaul. The upgrades, however, will come in the form of technology improvements.

It is likely to feature a more advanced Ultra Wideband chip, probably the second-generation version from the iPhone 15. Apple is also said to be focusing on privacy. It is also tipped to improve the range of the Precision Finding feature.

As of now, there is no clue regarding the pricing of the AirTag 2. To recall, the first-gen AirTag is now available in India starting at ₹3490 for the single piece.
