Apple Updates Vision Pro with M5 Chip and Better Battery Life: But It Still Costs the Same!
Apple has introduced the latest version of its Vision Pro headset, now featuring the M5 chip. This upgrade promises enhanced performance, smoother graphics, and longer battery life. The device also includes a new Dual Knit Band for improved comfort and balance. Running on visionOS 26, it offers immersive spatial experiences and advanced AI features.
The Apple Vision Pro with M5 showcases a Dual Knit Band with a two-strap system. This design includes a 3D-knitted upper and lower section. The lower strap is reinforced with tungsten inserts for added stability. Users can adjust the fit using the Fit Dial, and it comes in three sizes. It remains compatible with the previous Vision Pro model.

The M5 chip powers the new Apple Vision Pro, built on third-generation 3nm technology. It boasts a 10-core CPU and GPU. Apple claims that its new GPU architecture enhances lighting, shadows, and reflections in games like Control. The upgraded micro-OLED display delivers 10% more pixels for sharper visuals.
The Vision Pro supports refresh rates up to 120Hz, ensuring smoother motion and reduced blur during Mac Virtual Display use. A dedicated R1 chip provides real-time sensor input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones, refreshing images within just 12 milliseconds.
Apple Vision Pro M5 Features
Equipped with a 16-core Neural Engine, the device offers AI-powered features like creating Personas and transforming photos into 3D spatial scenes using AI-driven enterprise tools. Developers can utilise Apple's Foundation Models for advanced on-device AI experiences.

The wearable runs on Apple's visionOS 26, allowing users to watch immersive videos in both 180° and 360°. New Apple Immersive experiences include upcoming NBA games and films from BBC, HYBE, and Red Bull. Popular iPad games like Sniper Elite 4 are supported as well.
For professionals, the Vision Pro supports creative tools such as Pixelmator, Da Vinci Eye, and Keynote. These tools enable users to work or present in fully immersive 3D environments. The PlayStation VR2 Sense controller supports motion tracking for the headset.
Apple Vision Pro M5 Pricing and Availability
The Apple Vision Pro with M5 chip starts at $3,499 (approximately Rs 3,08,000) in the US. It is available in storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Customers can pre-order it across major markets including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and UAE.
Pre-orders for mainland China and Singapore begin on October 17. The headset will be available in Apple Stores from October 22 in these regions. South Korea and Taiwan will receive it later.
