Casio Launches New G-Shock GMC-2500 Series in India: Price, Availability And Other Details
Casio has launched its new G-SHOCK 2500 Series in India, bringing a fresh analogue design inspired by the original DW-5000C, the first G-SHOCK watch launched in 1983. The new lineup combines the brand's signature shock resistance with a multifunction date display, 200-metre water resistance and a design that blends rounded contours with a more detailed dial.
The G-SHOCK 2500 Series includes the resin GAC-2500 and metal-clad GMC-2500 ranges. The launch was marked with a media event in New Delhi, where attendees could experience the watches and explore the design concept behind the new collection. Read on to know all details.

Casio G-SHOCK 2500 Series: Features And Specifications
Takuto Kimura, Managing Director of Casio India, spoke about the brand's legacy of toughness and the design philosophy behind the new collection during an event in New Delhi. He said the 2500 Series combines the heritage of the original DW-5000C with an analogue design focused on durability, functionality and craftsmanship.
One of the key features of the watch is the Multi-Mission Date function. The three-cell window at the 3 o'clock position displays the date during regular use and can show stopwatch elapsed time and setting information when other functions are activated. Once configured, the fully analogue watch automatically adjusts for month-end changes and leap years, removing the need for manual date correction.
The series also features a Two-Eye Signature design, with a small-seconds display at the 9 o'clock position and a multifunction indicator at 3 o'clock. A hand-shift function moves the hands away from the display when they obstruct the view of other information.
The GMC-2500 models also feature Casio's Shock Release Hand mechanism. Instead of being fixed rigidly to its shaft, the minute hand is held in place magnetically. This helps it withstand the force of an impact. If the watch takes a hard knock, the hand may temporarily shake or move before returning to its correct position within a few minutes.
The watches offer G-SHOCK's signature shock resistance and 20-bar water resistance, equivalent to 200 metres. Other features include an automatic calendar, a stopwatch that measures time in one-second increments up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds, and an amber LED backlight with afterglow.
The GMC-2500 models use a CR1025 battery with a claimed life of around two years. They do not support Tough Solar charging or Bluetooth connectivity.
