DJI Mini 5 Pro Launched Globally with 50-Megapixel 1-Inch CMOS Sensor: Check Pricing And Features

The DJI Mini 5 Pro, a new offering from the Chinese drone manufacturer, has been introduced globally. Currently, it is available in the European Union along with two combo packages. However, its availability and pricing details for other regions remain undisclosed, and it will not be sold in the United States. The company claims that this is the first mini drone worldwide to feature a 1-inch CMOS camera sensor and weighs approximately 250 grams.

In terms of pricing within the EU, the DJI Mini 5 Pro is set at EUR 799 (around Rs. 83,000). There are also two combo options available: the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo with the DJI RC-N3 remote controller priced at EUR 999 (approximately Rs. 1,04,000), and another combo featuring the DJI RC 2 remote controller for EUR 1,129 (about Rs. 1,17,000).

The DJI Mini 5 Pro boasts a 50-megapixel camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor. It offers an 84-degree field of view, a focal length of 24mm, and an f/1.8 aperture. Additionally, it supports a Med-Tele mode with a focal length of 48mm. This camera can record videos in 4K resolution with up to three times digital zoom and full-HD videos with up to four times zoom.

For photography enthusiasts, the drone captures images in both 12-megapixel and 50-megapixel resolutions. However, the three times digital zoom feature is only available when capturing images at the lower resolution. The drone's dimensions are noted as 255×181×91mm when unfolded with propellers and reduce to 157×95×68mm when folded without them.

Battery Options and Flight Capabilities

The DJI Mini 5 Pro offers two battery choices: an Intelligent Flight Battery with a capacity of 2788mAh and an Intelligent Flight Battery Plus boasting a capacity of 4680mAh. With these batteries, users can expect maximum flight durations of up to 36 minutes and up to 52 minutes respectively. Typical flight times are reported as being around 21 minutes for the smaller battery and about 33 minutes for the larger one.

This mini drone can ascend to a maximum altitude of approximately 6,000 meters using the smaller battery option. It achieves horizontal speeds reaching up to 19 meters per second and ascent speeds up to ten meters per second in S mode when equipped with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus.

Additional Features

The DJI Mini 5 Pro includes features such as 'nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing' and vertical shooting capabilities along with gimbal rotation support of up to 225 degrees. The device's weight is approximately just under half a kilogram at around 249.9 grams.

For those interested in protecting their investment further, DJI offers its Care Refresh protection plan for this model. This plan allows owners to replace their drones twice within one year if they incur damage beyond repair.
