FiiO X7 is an Android based Premium Music Player which even makes the iPod Touch feel cheap
FiiO, a reputed Chinese audio equipment maker has now launched a premium DAP (Digital Music Player) dubbed the FiiO X7 in India. Interestingly the all new device costs as much as the Huawei Nexus 6P, which is one of the premium smartphone offerings in the market. Just to compare the FiiO X7 costs nearly double that of the Apple iPod Touch.

The FiiO X7 apparently comes with a price tag of Rs 49,999. Fortunately, though the device is presently available in India at an introductory price of Rs 42,999 exclusively via headphonezone.in.

To justify its heavy price, the FiiO X7 is packed with an in-built Rockchip RK3188 SoC, ESS ES9018S DAC and OPA1612 buffer that can deliver a high quality 32bit/384kHz audio.

Incidentally the FiiO X7 comes with 1GB RAM and a 3500mAh battery, both of which are quite high in DAP (Digital Music Player) standards. The presence of a skinned version of Android Lollipop 5.0 however, might be the reason behind such a large battery. FiiO claims that the X7 is rated for upto 9 hours of audio playback.

It's worth noting that the FiiO X7 comes with a rather premium metal design and sports a total of 6 buttons with customisable functions to aid both left and right handed users.

FiiO claims to have used block of aluminium which was also used for construction of the iPhone 6S, to construct the X7. This apparently is yet another justification for the premium price tag. But whether or not users are ready to dole out so much for a Digital Music Player is still, a matter of debate.
