The largest technology event of the year IFA 2017 is right around the corner. The event will set off in Berlin on September 1st and will last for six days. We will see every major technology brand showcase their latest innovations at the week long event while revealing their most ambitious ventures.
Acer will also have a handful of products that will attract the attention of technology enthusiastic audience present at the event. Acer has launched some of its most worked upon innovations in the field of laptops and desktops.
A whole new series of laptops, camera, and desktops, that includes Predator desktop and Aspire S24, have been unveiled by Acer which will occupy a hotspot at the IFA.
Here is what's new from Acer in 2017:
New Acer Chromebook 15 with Aluminum Design
Acer announced a new model of its Chromebook 15 lineup - Acer claims that it is the only Chromebook in the industry with a 15.6-inch display. The new Chromebook has an aluminum design and long battery life of up to 12 hours.
It now comes with Full HD IPS1 display and the PC is available in touch-screen and non-touch configurations.
The Chromebook 15 will support Android apps via the Google Play Store when it is launched.
Swift 5, Spin 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition
Acer expanded its portfolio of ultraslim, convertible and detachable Windows 10 devices with the next generation of Swift, Spin and Switch models. The notebooks incorporate the new, 8th Generation Intel Core processors and more secure biometric technology supporting Windows Hello. Acer claims that the new line up will be proficient for purposes ranging from entertainment to professional productivity.
The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition will be available in North America in December with prices starting at $1,699 (approx. Rs. 108796) and in Europe and Middle East in December starting at Euro 1,999 (Approx. Rs. 151985).
The Acer Swift 5 will be available in North America in December starting at $999(Approx. Rs. 65,000) and in Europe and Middle East in December starting at €1,099(approx. Rs. 84,000). It will be released in China in November.
The Acer Spin 5 will be available in North America in September with both the 13-inch and 15-inch models starting at $799 (approx Rs. 51164); and in Europe and Middle East in September with the 13-inch model starting at Euro 899 (approx. Rs. 68342) and the 15-inch model starting at Euro 999 (approx. Rs. 75945).

Upgraded Predator Gaming Desktops
Acer also announced new additions to its Predator gaming line, which includes the Predator Orion 9000 series gaming desktops with Windows 10. It is Acer's most powerful desktop for gaming purpose to date. Acer has also announced the Predator X35 monitor that boasts NVIDIA G-SYNC and Acer HDR Ultra technologies. Acer is also offering a new Predator headset and mouse specifically designed for better gaming controls.
The Predator Orion 9000 Series gaming desktops will be available in North America in December with prices starting at $1,999(Approx. Rs. 1,27,942) and in Europe and Middle East in November starting at €1,999 (approx. Rs. 1,52,537).
New Aspire S24, Slimmest-Ever All-in-One Desktop PC
Acer expanded the Aspire desktop series with new 23.8-inch Aspire S24 all-in-one desktop PC. The new all-in-one desktop is Acer's slimmest ever, featuring a display with a side profile of only 5.97 mm.
It has a Full HD IPS with viewing angles expanded to 178 degrees.
It is powered by 8th Generation Intel Core processors with optional Intel Optane memory. It runs Windows 10, which includes Cortana and Microsoft Edge. The wireless charging base allows users to power up their mobile devices by supporting wireless charging for Qi-enabled devices.
The Aspire S24 comes with up to 256 GB SSD and 2 TB HDD of storage space. The Acer Aspire S24 will be available in North America in January 2018 starting at $999 (approx. Rs. 65,000).
Acer Holo360 Camera
The Acer Holo360 is a 360 degree camera from the brand. It is powered by the Qualcomm Connected Camera Platform with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 mobile processor. It has the capability to stitch videos in real-time. It allows integrated LTE connectivity and a 3-inch touchscreen for operation. The Acer Holo360 provides an all-in-one solution to livestream 360-degree videos. Panomorph optics certified by ImmerVision capture consistent high-resolution images across the field of view without distortion, allowing the Holo360 to deliver high-quality photos in 6.9K resolution and videos in 4K. The videos can be played back on VR headsets.
Acer is expanding not only its existing product line-up but it is also trying to penetrate the market with innovative new ventures. Holo360 is a substantial evidence that Acer does not wish to limit itself to a brand offering desktops and laptops only.
