Logitech Announces Manufacturing Products in India, Calls it a Strategically Important Market

Logitech has just announced that it has started making some of its products in India. The company, according to a press release, has begun manufacturing in Manesar, Haryana, as it looks to meet demand in India faster. However, Logitech has not yet said whether making products locally will lead to lower prices.

The company also added that it will work with local manufacturing partners, although it has not yet named the products that will be made in India.

Logitech Says India Is a Key Market

Logitech's new manufacturing facility adds to its existing operations in India, which include sales and marketing teams and a research and development centre in Chennai.

Sree Chenincherry, Chief Supply Chain Operations Officer at Logitech, said India is a strategically important market for the company. He added that making products locally would help it deliver them faster, manage its supply chain better and respond more quickly to what customers need.

Delphine Donné, Vice President and General Manager of Personal Work Solutions at Logitech, said India is important both as a growing market for its products and as a place where the company develops hardware and software for global markets.

Which Logitech Products Will Be Made in India?

Logitech has said that local manufacturing will begin with webcams and pointing devices, a category that includes computer mice. However, the company has not shared a list of specific products or said when Indian-made models will be available in stores.

The company expects local manufacturing to help reduce delivery times and make it easier to respond to changes in demand.

Logitech also says manufacturing products closer to where they are sold could reduce the distance they travel and help cut transport-related emissions. The move is also expected to create local jobs in areas such as quality checks, logistics and factory operations.

Why is Logitech Manufacturing Products in India?

Logitech's decision comes as more people in India use the internet and buy computers. The company cited nearly 970 million internet subscriptions and annual PC sales of almost 16 million units in 2025 as signs of the market's growth.

By starting local manufacturing, Logitech is adding another part to its business in India, beyond selling products and developing technology. The move also supports the government's Make in India initiative, which aims to encourage companies to manufacture more products in the country.

For customers though, the big question is whether this change will affect prices and availability. Local manufacturing could help Logitech get products to stores faster, but the company has not confirmed whether customers will see any savings. For now, it has only announced that production has begun in India, with webcams and pointing devices first in line.
