Logitech UE Blast and Megablast Bluetooth speakers with built-in Alexa launched
Logitech UE Blast and Megablast Bluetooth speakers may be the first great portable Alexa speaker in the market.
Logitech along with Ultimate Ears an American custom in-ear monitor (IEM), speaker, and earphone manufacturer has now launched two new speakers in the market. Dubbed as Blast and the Megablast these new devices look similar to Boom 2 and Megaboom speaker, but the key differentiating factor is that both of these new speakers now have built-in Amazon Alexa.
The new speakers also come with other added features like Wi-Fi chips that help it to connect with Alexa. The speakers also have multiple far-field microphones underneath the fabric. These will basically help in capturing your voice more effectively.
The speakers also offer Bluetooth connectivity and thus can be used as regular Bluetooth speakers. However, both the new speaker get the same water and drop resistance feature as the older Boom devices. The speakers provide uninterrupted music as it plays music over Wi-Fi (with Alexa) even when someone is calling you.
Along with Alexa features, the company is also offering three months of Amazon Music subscription for free to the consumers. And again this service helps users to stream music directly over the internet instead of through the connected phone. Supported services also include iHeartRadio and TuneIn. With all these, you can basically stream everything from the cloud.
Talking about the output level, the company has said that the new Megablast speaker can deliver up to 40 percent louder sound than Megaboom. The Blast and Megablast will also reportedly give 12 hours and 16 hours of battery life respectively. Thus Ultimate Ears seems to have done a lot of work with the new speakers.
Both speakers have been launched in the U.S. and will come in Graphite (black), Blizzard (white), Merlot (red), or Blue. The UE Blast is priced at $229.99 (roughly Rs. 14,893) and the UE Megablast will cost $299.99 (roughly Rs.19,445).
The company has also launched an optional charging dock which will further let users play music while the device is still charging. The Power Up charging dock is priced at $39.99 (roughly Rs. 2,536).
