Panasonic launches OLED Tvs, Dual-ISO camera, and UHD Blu-ray players at CES 2018
The OLED TV market is shaping up this year. Though the trend debuted last year, it is at the CES 2018 tech show that many companies have started coming up with such products.
Panasonic is one such company that has come up with a slew of products at the ongoing CES 2018 tech show. The company has announced the Panasonic FZ950 and FZ800 OLED TVs, the Lumix GH5S camera, two new UHD Blu-ray players, a couple of camcorders, the smart home initiative called Home X, and more.
Panasonic announced that it will work with Amazon to incorporate Alexa voice assistant to cars. The company has brought their existing partnership with Google and offered a peek at the integrations that the Panasonic made car displays will feature. With this, the car displays from Panasonic will provide access to Android apps such as Google Maps and Google Assistant as well.
Panasonic FZ950 and FZ800 OLED TVs
The OLED flagship TVs of this year - the Panasonic FZ950 and FZ800 were unveiled at the CES 2018 tech show. This new range of TVs have the similar features such as brighter colors and more striking blacks just like their predecessors. But there are some notable improvements as well.
These new Panasonic OLED TVs support HDR Plus, a new open standard for HDR content. There is a Hollywood-tuned HCX video processor as well on board. The Panasonic FZ950 featurs a Technics-tuned speaker stand with 20W tweeter, 40W woofer, and 20W mid-range driver. As of now, the company has not revealed anything regarding the pricing of these new TV models.
Lumix GH5S
The new Lumix GH5S is a refined variant of the videography-focused GH5 camera. Panasonic claims that the GH5S offers the best low-light sensitivity among the cameras launched by the company ever. This is possible as the camera comes with Dual-ISO that can suppress the noise in images. There is support for 4K video recording at 30 fps or 60 fps. This camera will go on sale starting from the next month in select markets.
UP-UB420 and DP-UB820 Ultra HD Blu-ray Players
Panasonic touts that the UP-UB420 and DP-UB820 Blu-ray players will render an optimized HDR experience to the users. The UB830 player comes with support for Dolby Vision. The other interesting aspect about these Blu-ray players support Ultra HD resolution is that both Panasonic is working with Amazon and Google to bring the Alexa and Google Home support to these Blu-ray players.
The company is yet to reveal the possible pricing of these Blu-ray speakers but it is expected that these will be released later this year.
WXF1 and VX1 Camcorders
Other than the Lumix GH5S, Panasonic has announced the launch of a couple of camcorders at the event. The WXF1 and VX1 camcorders are the ones we are talking about. The company claims that these camcorders have a back-illuminated MOS sensor providing better low-light performance, crisp f/1.8 aperture and up to 24x optical zoom. These camcorders will support 4K video recording at 30 fps. Moreover, these models appear to feature a newly designed ultra smooth OIS system with Ball OIS an Adaptive OIS. These camcorder models are likely to be released in April this year and start from $799.
