Sony launches Hard Drive covers and Dual Shock 4 hues in Japan


Sony made some announcement at their Tokyo Game Show Press Conference which is bound to make a number of gamers happy. In case you already own a PlayStation 4 but want to add a little bit more flair to your console, then Sony has some interesting options in their kitty.

The Japanese OEM launched a set of new hard drive panels, which allows you to add some personal taste to your gaming console. The hard drive panels come in a range of colours namely -yellow, gold, pink, light blue, red and purple.

Apparently Sony had introduced us to the idea of swappable plates a year back in 2014 when it debuted its Project Skylight beta.

Further Sony unveiled four new models of gaming consoles which are available in four colour variant - Gold, Silver, Steel Black, and Crystal. The Crystal variant is transparent in appearance. Sony has launched these controllers and hard drive panels exclusively in Japan.

The products will go on sale ahead of the holiday season in the county on 6th of November. While the plates Sony says the plates will cost $21 each (Rs 1,323), and the new Dual Shock 4 pads will retail for $54 (Rs 3,402).

Additionally Sony has confirmed that the gold and silver controllers will be the first to make their way westwards i.e. to US and Europe. However they haven't specified an exact date.
