What Each Sony ULT POWER SOUND Speaker Offers

The ULT TOWER 5 is the entry model in the new range, but it still targets loud portable use. It delivers 300W output and uses a 230mm woofer with ULT DUCT technology, two tweeters and ULT POWER SOUND modes. Sony says the speaker can last up to 20 hours on battery.

For users who want more output and longer runtime, the ULT TOWER 7 offers 420W power and up to 30 hours of battery life. It includes a 280mm woofer, rear tweeter, front-and-rear speaker array and ULT DUCT technology. It also supports karaoke functions, Stereo Pair and wired multi-speaker chaining.

The ULT TOWER MAX is built for a different scale. It has three 280mm woofers, two midrange drivers and four tweeters, producing a claimed 2,150W output. It supports ULT1, ULT2 and LIVE FLAT modes, 360-degree sound, a 10-band equaliser, karaoke controls and 100 LEDs for party lighting.

Both battery-powered models carry an IPX4 rating, which means they can handle splashes but are not meant for submersion. The ULT TOWER 5 can be placed vertically or horizontally and comes with four handles. The ULT TOWER 7 adds upgraded rear wheels, making it easier to move at venues.

Connectivity is a major part of the range. Depending on the model, buyers get Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, USB-A, RCA, XLR In/Out and microphone input. The XLR and RCA support will matter to users connecting DJ controllers, mixers or external microphones for events and karaoke sessions.
