7 Steps to set up your Google Nexus 6P
Google revealed the new generation Nexus smartphones - the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X on September 29 globally and launched them in India on October 13. The Google powered and HUawei made Nexus 6P is the premium offering that boasts high end features such as fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C, a metal body design, Android Marshmallow and more. The phone is available for Rs 39,999 for 32GB and Rs 42,999 for 64GB variant.
If you have bought the smartphone already, here we give you 7 steps to set up the Google Nexus 6P smartphone.
Transfer data from previous Android device
The first thing that you want to do when you upgrade to a new phone is to transfer data from old phone to the new one. To do so, go to the ‘Tap & Go' option available on Android Lollipop, to instantly restore data including settings, apps, accounts and more from old device to the new phone.
Register Fingerprint
One of the key highlights of the new Nexus smartphones is the Nexus Imprint fingerprint scanner for enhanced security of the phone. To set this up, go to Settings, and click on Security. Now click on Nexus Imprint, and setup a backup password, or pattern. Once done, now set up your fingerprint scanner by adding one or more finger impressions for different features.
Find Lost device
Fingerprint scanner ensures security of your data on the phone, but what would you do in case your data is stolen. You must use the Android device manager or download phone tracking apps to track your phone down, in case it gets lost or stolen. Using the Android device manager, owner of the device can lock, or erase data on the device.
Activate Google Now on Tap
Android 6.0 Marshmallow version brings new feature called Google Now on Tap, which is an interesting feature that lets you get information about apps and other data on phone. To use the feature, you must activate it. You can long-press the home button to launch Google Now on Tap.
Set up Quick launch feature for Camera
The Nexus 6P sports a 12.3MP camera, which is better than ever. Google has introduced quick launch feature for the Camera. This feature allows quick launch of camera by simply double tapping the power key. And the best is that this feature works even when the phone is locked.
Turn on Backup and Restore feature
It is important for users to enable Backup and Restore feature on an Android smartphone, to take backup of your data. You can do so by going to the Settings menu and then enabling the Backup & Restore feature.
Set up Notification Bar
One of the features that you get on Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the option to customize the notification bar. You can now toggle icons and customize the quick settings, and even rearrange options by making changes in Settings.
