Warning: Skygofree Malware can click picture and record videos from your device- Kaspersky
The Skygofree uses approximately 48 commands along with five different approaches to get root access of a device which further allows the hackers to bypass Android security measures.
With recent attacks and security flaws on almost all the computing machines and mobile devices the companies are battling to fend of these unwanted attacks on devices. Kaspersky Lab which is a cyber security and antivirus provider company has recently warned the users about one of the most powerful android and Windows Malware called Skygofree.
The company reports that the Skygofree is a Malware which was developed back in 2014 has been constantly been developed to spy on users devices. Unlike the famous Meltdown and Spectre Malware which slowed down the performance of a device this Malware steals the data from an android or Windows machine. Skygofree has been developed for surveillance and allows a hacker to steal data such as WhatsApp messages, location-based audio recording along with linking an infected device to Wi-Fi networks which are controlled by cybercriminals.
The Skygofree uses approximately 48 commands along with five different approaches to get root access of a device which further allows the hackers to bypass Android security measures which is something to worry about. By gaining the root access of devices hackers can click picture, record a video and also have access to text messages, calendar events, location of device and business related information which is stored in users device.
Skygofree is claimed to be programmed in such a way that it is categorized under protected apps that means the Malware doesn't turn off even the when the display is off. Kaspersky has rolled out a listing of domain addresses, Skygofree's commands and the device models which are targeted by the Malware.
Skygofree contains some advanced features includes reverse shelling which gives an attacker control of the affected devices along with ability to record Skype conversations and a keylogger.
As per some Kaspersky Labs researchers, the malware spreads through look alike web pages of mobile operators including Vodafone and others. Kaspersky Labs also added that people in Italy are most affected as the Skygofree developer group can be from Italy itself.
