Xiaomi has two new products ready for the Indian market
Xiaomi to launch two new products in India.
Xiaomi fanatics in India might a have a reason to cheer as the company will soon be launching two new accessories soon. If the reports are to be believed, the company will be launching a tripod selfie stick and a Bluetooth audio receiver for the Indian market.
Both devices were launched for the Chinese market for a price of ¥89 ($14) for the selfie stick, and ¥99 ($16) for the Bluetooth receiver. GizmoChina reports, the devices will be priced at Rs 1,099 ( $17) and Rs 999 ($15) respectively in the Indian market.
The selfie stick is expected to come in Black and Gray options, while the Bluetooth receiver will be available in only White color. Although the products are already available for the Indian consumers, they aren't sold by Xiaomi India officially. So the official announcement means the availability of the products in online stores and offline Mi Home stores.
Besides, Xiaomi also recently unveiled its own virtual assistant dubbed Xiao AI in a promotional YouTube video. China is yet to get full integration from Google, though Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri work fine in China, the country still needed something of its own. Xiaomi was quick to realize this and came up with its own AI assistant.
Xiaomi seems to have beaten Huawei with the latest move since Huawei is also said to be working on its own virtual assistant especially designed for the Chinese market. The video depicts the Xiao AI to be somewhat similar to the Google Assistant. Users in the video command the assistant to open apps, take photos, translate menus, check the weather, turn on the lights, start a vacuum robot and all other commands the currently available assistants can do. The most noticeable difference here is that the assistant is built with the Chinese language in mind, rather than using English as the first language. This will make it more useful for users in China compared to any other virtual assistants.
Additionally, the Xiao AI can integrate with many smart home appliances that the company has under its belt, such as the vacuum robot featured in the video. Chinese users having access to a native voice-controlled smart home is something that will new to most.
