Xiaomi Mi Crowdfunding program launched in India: All you need to know

Xiaomi has announced a new Mi Crowdfunding program in India. This new feature will let users help the company in deciding which products have to be released in the country. Xiaomi will post a curated list of innovative products and these will be sold only to those who are interested in buying them. If a specific product does not meet the criteria within a preset timeline, then that product will not be launched in India and the customers who ordered it will be refunded.

The Mi Crowdfunding program was launched as a part of the Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival sale lasting until April 6. For now, Xiaomi has listed two products that the company is interested in bringing to India. These products are listed on a dedicated page for the crowdfunding products. These new products are the Mi Selfie Stick Tripod and the Bluetooth Audio Receiver.

The Mi Selfie Stick Tripod carries a price tag of Rs. 1,099. It is a selfie stick, which can be doubled as a tripod as well. The device comes with a Bluetooth shutter remote and comes with Bluetooth 3.0 for pairing. This indicates that this selfie stick from Xiaomi will support smartphones based on Android 4.3 and above and iOS 5.0 and above.

Notably, the Mi Selfie Stick Tripod can rotate 360 degrees and has an adjustable grip to accommodate big smartphones such as Mi Max 2. This product comes in the Black color variant and weighs in at 155 grams. Xiaomi assures that this product will be shipped within 10 days of the completion of the project.

The other product, the Bluetooth Audio Receiver is priced at Rs. 999. This product provides wireless music, has a single key function to tun on earphones, answer calls, connect to Bluetooth and play or pause music, etc. It has Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and a headphone amplifier chip. This Bluetooth Audio Receiver has a 97mAh battery, which can be fully charged in 2 hours and provide up to 4 or 5 hours of playback. It has a 3.5mm audio jack and weighs in at 10 grams.

The Bluetooth Audio Receiver comes in the White color variant and misses out volume key functionality. It supports pairing up to two devices at the same time.
