Panasonic Mirrorless Camera Series Lumix DMC GX1, G5 and GH3 Launched: Price Starts at Rs 34,990

|

Panasonic has officially launched their three Lumix cameras viz GX1, G5 and GH3 in the Indian market. All three cameras belong to the Lumix Mirrorless series of Panasonic and also come under the G line up.

Each model comes with unique features and innovative design and improved imaging technologies. The price range of the cameras range from Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 99,990 and beyond.

Here below is a brief rundown on the specs of the three cameras, one at a time:

Panasonic Lumix DMC GH3

The DMC GH3 offers a high-definition progressive scanning and can record in more formats, and also comes with heat-dispersing design for more shooting fun.

Specswise, the DMC-GH3 features a re-engineered 16.05 megapixel Live MOS Sensor inside it. To maximize the resolution of the newly developed Live MOS Sensor, the image sensing block is designed as an integrated unit. Panasonic has also added a new filter that optimizes the conflicting effects of increasing resolution while suppressing moire. The camera comes with a new Venus Engine that makes both the still and video signals with razor-sharp clarity.

The camera is protected with a magnesium alloy body with a splash proof along with a dustproof design that makes the DMC-GH3 more durable and rugged. To assure superior image quality, LUMIX G lenses feature Nano Surface Coating or multi coating, to prevent lens aberration. In the DMC-GH3's Contrast AF system, the image sensor doubles as the AF sensor to resist any mechanical margin of error.

Compared with Phase Difference AF, the focusing is precise even at small F-numbers. The DMC-GH3 uses a variety of advanced recording media, including the SDXC, SDHC, and SD Memory Cards. Moreover, the camera has a built-in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) function. By installing LUMIX LINK 2.1 or newer, a dedicated application compatible with iOS and Android for smartphones and tablets, you can enjoy a new shooting style using Wi-Fi. The camera and the lens comes together at the price of Rs 1,54,990 with 14140 lens.

Panasonic Lumix DMC GX1

GX1 is another camera that sports a 16.0-megapixel Live MOS Sensor. With the dedicated circuit, which reads out signals with minimum noise, the level of noise is significantly suppressed by more than 66%. GX1 also comes with a Venus Engine image processor like the GH3.

The DMC-GX1 features approximately 0.09 second of ultra-high speed Light Speed AF which is achieved by reducing the detection time for focusing by the synchronization of the lens and the sensor at 120 fps. The DMC-GX1 is an advanced photographic control tool for recording not only great photos but also beautiful full HD 1,920 x 1,080 videos.

Superb image rendering produces lifelike textures and natural atmospheres with remarkable transparency, while crisp, edge-to-edge contrast and a unique Nano Surface Coating minimize ghosts and flaring.

The DMC-GX1is priced at Rs. 34,990 and comes along with a 1442 mm lens.

Panasonic Lumix DMC G5

Panasonic has added its original pixel mix technology and the inherent high speed of the CMOS sensor to the 16.05-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor in G5. This one also features Venus Engine for advanced signal processing for both photos and video, and attains exceptional noise-reduction performance with the combination of 3D Noise Reduction (3DNR) and Multi-process Noise Reduction (MNR) systems.

The DMC-G5 features two types of noise reduction: Multiprocess Noise Reduction, which optimizes the noise reduction in the bright parts of the image for both single and burst shooting, and 3D Noise Reduction, which applies optimal noise reduction by differentiating the edges and the smooth parts of the image in single shots.

The incredible speed of the DMC-G5 is capable of capturing moving subjects. It features the world's fastest level of auto focusing, called Light Speed AF, which is achieved by reducing the detection time for focusing by doubling the drive speed from 60 to 120 frames per second.

The DMC-G5's high-speed, high-precision AF functions operate even while shooting videos. The DMC-G5 records high-resolution Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p (NTSC)/50p (PAL) videos with 28 Mbps videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4/H.264) format.

This camera is price at Rs. 37,990 with 1442 mm, Rs. 43,990 with 1442 and 45150 mm lens. Although, there has been a growing interest in the smartphone usage than a point and shoot camera, Panasonic has offered these excellent shooters taking the photography to another level.
