Tech companies have been showing off their latest products and line-ups for 2013 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) taking place at Las Vegas right now. Joining the race Panasonic, the leading consumer electronics company has come up with some really exciting new consumer products including cameras, speakers, headphones etc. and other innovative technologies in televisions. Lets take a look at all the technologies launched by Panasonic this year at CES and their remarkable features.
LUMIX Compact Lineup for 2013
At CES 2013, Panasonic unveiled their new flagship line-up of LUMIX compact cameras for this year. The camera range reportedly aima at high quality pictures, stunning design and intelligent functionality with new connectivity options including Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication (NFC). The connectivity technologies facilitate widest range in cases of remote shooting, remote viewing as well as sharing on social networking sites.
The new models include LUMIX ZS30, LUMIX TS5, LUMIX LZ30, LUMIX XS1 and LUMIX SZ3.
LUMIX ZS30 is a video and photo hybrid compact camera, with 18.1 MP MOS sensor, Optical Zoom of 20x, Full HD 60p video recording etc. LUMIX TS5 is the hardy camera for adventure photographers, waterproof, freeze proof, pressure resistant and shockproof to large extents. It has a 16.1 MP high sensitivity sensor, 1920x1080 full HD progressive movie recording with pristine functionality and picture quality.
LUMIX LZ30 has high power Optical Zoom lens of 30x with 16.1 MP full resolution and a plethora of creative options. Its wide angle lens (25mm) provides double the shooting area of 35mm lens. LUMIX XS1 is the stylish and slim model having 14mm thickness equipped with 16.1 MP sensor.
The camera also has a wide array of creative features and functions as well as filters. LUMIX DMC-SZ3 caters to all kinds of photographers and is equipped with 16.1 MP sensor, LEICA lens of 10x Optical Zoom, slim design and a whole lot of creative effects.
Panasonic's LUMIX DMC-LZ30 has an ergonomic design and is equipped with optical zoom of 35x lens having Optical Image Stabilizer. The 25mm Wide angle lens of the camera produces a 16.1 MP resolution with CCD sensor. The camera shoots high quality video and photo with image processing LSI which delivers high performance.
The Intelligent Auto (iA) mode allows ease of operation of the camera integrating Optical Image Stabilizer, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Intelligent Exposure. It records 720p HD video and offers other features that enhance performance. These features include Creative Retouch and Creative Control, Panorama Shot, High Dynamic Range (HDR) etc. The LCD, sized 3 inches, has 460,000 dots allowing high visibility, whatever be the lighting conditions.
SC-NP10 Wireless Speaker
The SC-NP10 Wireless Speaker from Panasonic has been unveiled at CES which offers surround sound system at optimum levels for tablet listening and viewing. It has unique functionalities suiting an assortment of spaces and scenarios. It is designed for using with tablet devices which are Bluetooth-enabled.
It can wirelessly stream movie and music from tablets of all sizes and models and can be placed anywhere at home. Near Fields Stereo Sound is provided to provide optimum sound even when listening at close distances. This is further facilitated by a 12-degree slant.
The other features of the speaker are 2.1-channel Surround Sound to provide realistic sound, 3-1/8-inches subwoofer for producing bass sounds and Bluetooth Re-Master technology for recovering lost frequencies during Bluetooth transmission offers seamless listening experience. The home audio products from Panasonic will be available from April.
Panasonic tough Pad
Panasonic RP-BTGS10 Wireless Bone Conduction Headphone
Panasonic RP-BTGS10 Wireless Bone Conduction Headphone included in the line-up of headphones for 2013 has also been put on display at CES. The headphone functions by sound transmission through bone conduction, thus freeing the ears for other sounds as well.
Panasonic RP-BTGS10 Wireless Bone Conduction Headphone are placed in front of the ear canal and produces clear sound as the vibrations are transmitted directly into the auditory nerve via bones. RP-BTGS10 also comes with bone conduction microphones which picks up the sound through bone conduction enabling users to record voice or attend telephone calls.
The headphones are also drip-proof and have a sleek design. The innovative headphones function well with Bluetooth transmitter-equipped televisions. The headphones are expected to hit the markets this fall in a plethora of colors. The pricing and availability will be revealed one month before shipping begins.
Panasonic VIERA LED/LCD Models
The line-up of VIERA LED/LCD HDTVs from Panasonic for 2013 are equipped with advanced design, outstanding picture quality, enhanced connectivity, easy operation and personalization options. All the LCD models for 2013 are LED. The WT60, ET60, DT60 and E60 series HDTVs come with the ‘My Home Screen' option which facilitates in the creation of personal home screens allowing users to access their favorite content easily. Swipe & Share 2.0 connectivity enhancement is also made available in these HDTVs facilitating seamless streaming and sharing of video and photo content with tablets and smartphones. Voice Guidance is another feature in these VIERA HDTVs which converts text appearing in the screen to speech. Voice interaction is a feature available for VIERA DT60 and WT60 Series HDTVs.
The IPS Panel Technology of Panasonic has been enhanced to provide wide viewing angle without compromising on picture quality. Picture quality is ensured by Backlight Scanning Technology as well as improved contrast ratio. The improved LED/LCD panels of VIERA HDTVs also reduce power consumption to a maximum of 15%. The VIERA LED/LCD HDTV line-up for 2013 will be available from the spring.
Enhanced Smart VIERA Plasma HDTV Lineup for 2013
The line-up of Smart VIERA Plasma HDTVs from Panasonic for 2013 focuses on personalization, advanced networking features, re-mastered picture quality, increased connectivity as well as stunning design providing 16 new models ranging from 42-inches to 65-inches.
My Home Screen feature is available for the models ZT60, ST60 and VT60 which allows users to create their own personal screen for easy access to favorite content. Swipe & Share 2 connectivity enhancement is available in the above models which ensure seamless streaming of videos and photos with smartphones and tablets.
TY-TP10U Electronic Touch Pen is a design feature available in the models ZT60, ST60, S60 and VT60 which allows users to write on the photos on screen and then transfer them to smart devices. Voice Guidance and Voice interaction features are available for ZT60 and VT60 models.
While the former converts text on screen to speech, the latter allows the user to search by speaking the search keyword. ZT60, VT60 and ST60 models also have web browser and built-in Wireless LAN. VT60 has a built-in camera, the first for any Panasonic HDTV. VIERA Connect platform ensures enhanced user experience. Panasonic's line-up of VIERA plasma HDTVs for 2013 will be available from February.
Toughpads FZ-G1 and JT-B1
Adding on, Panasonic also added two more tablets to its basket of offerings under its Toughpad series. The models announced were FZ-G1 - a 10 inch tablet featuring Windows 8 Pro, and Toughpad JT-B1 - a 7 inch Android powered unit.
Both devices follow the original 10 inch Android-powered Toughpad FZ-A1 which became broadly available late last year. The 10 inch Windows 8 Pro-based Toughpad FZ-G1 will be available in March 2013 in the US market, price starting at $2,899. On the other hand, Toughpad JT-B1 will ship in February starting at $1,199. All Toughpad tablets can be purchased through authorized Panasonic resellers.
